TECHING PROCEDURES

Step 1 Warming up (5ms)

1. Greeting : Hello! Boys and girls, let’s count from one to five to begin our class. one two three four five. Let the students repeat the numbers three times

2. Tell the students: we are going to learn five new vocabulary words today Step 2 Presentation (25ms)

Task 1. Speaking (5ms)

Introduce new words by showing the cards: pencil pen ruler crayon pencil-box and let the class read each word aloud for a few times.

Introduce and display the new words with real objects. Write each word on the blackboard. Explain the meaning in Chinese if necessary. Point to them while you are introducing, and then the class say them a few times. Hold up the objects one by one.

Say: ---What’s this?

---It’s a _______.

Have the class repeat the ask and answer a few times

Task 2. Learning and listening (10ms)

1. Ask for five volunteers to come to the front. Give each student one thing ( pencil pen ruler crayon pencil-box ), say : what’s this? Lead the others to answer: It’s a ________

Play the audiotape twice, let students follow the tape

2. Introduce new phrases and sentences: How many? How many ______ do you have? I have _______.

Ask students to turn to page11. Play the audio twice, have the class follow along in their textbooks.

Hold up a number of books from one to five, say: how many? Repeat the question. Explain the meaning in Chinese if necessary. Then answer your own question: one book two books three books four books five books (plural form). Write the sentences on the blackboard.

Put five pencils on the desk in front of you, pick up one pencil and ask: how many pencils do I have? You answer: I have one pencil

Do this exercise with other objects and ask the class to say the phrases with you, go slowly as you do this drill, make sure all students can follow you.

Task 3. Practice (10ms)

1.Call on a few students to come to the front and lead them to practice this dialogue such as:

---Do you have any rulers?

---How many rulers do you have?

---I have _____ rulers.

2.Let’s play

Divide the students into groups of five, practice the dialogue like this: ---I have five______. How many _______do you have?

---I have four______. How many _______do you have?

---I have three______. How many _______do you have?

---I have two______. How many _______do you have?

---I have one______. How many _______do you have?

Keep going the drill until all students are doing correctly, you should spend some time explaining or demonstrating the play if necessary.

Step 4 Summary and homework (10ms )

1. Spend a few minutes at the end of class reviewing what the students have learnt today. Be positive and encourage the students to take active in classroom activities , make sure that they will always improve themselves in every class
