Ⅰ Pre-task preparations Play the video of the song Happy birthday and ask: Do you know this song? When do we sing this song? . (Students sing the song together.) T: Today is my son Allen’s birthday. I have prepare many things for him. Let’s have a look.

(show the pictures of sweets, chicken, fruit, toys)

Ⅱ While-task procedures T:Emm, it seems like I forget the most important thing for a birthday party. Do you know what is it? Ss say together. Show the picture of birthday cake.

I like cakes. Have some cakes. T:In western countries, people eat birthday cakes on their birthday. But in China, we eat one thing instead. Do you know what?(show some noodles pictures, teach noodles.) T: Everything is ready . Let ‘s go to Allen ‘s birthday party.

(Play the video of Allen’s birthday party.)

Do you notice this conversation? Here, this is for you .-----Thank you. On one’s birthday, we can say “Here is a

birthday card for you”.

Teach the word: card.

T: Card.(Show the flashcard for card.) C-A-R-D, card. Ss: Card. C-A-R-D, card. (1)Write the sentence pattern on the board. Here’s a card for you. Show them some toys say the sentence pattern Here’s a/an ... for you while giving them the toys. Guide them to say“Thank you”.

Students practice to say the sentence pattern while imitating to give presents to others. Show the cards about birthday. e.g. presents, birthday party hat, cards, noodles, eggs, etc. Show flashcards of cake, card and noodles. Read the three words together. Today is Alice’s birthday too, they are having birthday party now. Let’s go and have a look.

Play the video of Listen and say part . Ask and answer: a. How old is Alice b. What does Miss Fang give Alice?

Check the answer with students. Ⅲ Post-task activities 1. Act it out: Students gather in three or four to practice the listen and say part. Then act it out. (Give them some prize if they do well.) T:Well done. Here is a sweets for you. Here are some cookies for you .

2.Situation dialogue.(Have students think about what will they say on their birthday.) S1: Welcome to my

birthday party. Help yourself. S2:Here’s a birthday card for you.

T and S3: Happy birthday to you, S1! S1:Thank you! T: Have some noodles, S1. S1: Thank you! Homework :1.Thanks to mom for giving us life. 2.Read and act Listen and say. 3. Sing the song “Happy birthday”.
