Background study and material analyses:

本班三年级的学生在两年级的时候已经学习过ball, doll等一些表示玩具的单词。在本Module的第一单元学习过I like …的句型。但是,对于为什么喜欢,学生很想表达,却苦于不知如何说起。因此,本课中教师向学生提供了类似文本,再让学生从文本中找出别人为什么喜欢这些玩具,再让学生利用学过的句型和词组构成自己的文本:My favourite toy。

Learning Objectives: 1. Try to review the words: skateboard, ball, doll, robot, toy train 2. Try to read and use the phrases: view the images, dress …up, watch movies 3. Try to talk about the favourite toys and the reason why this toy is your favourite. Know the toys accompanied with you when you grow up.

The favourite toys We all like toys. And we all have our favourite toys.

Look, my favourite toy is this Play Station Portable. We usually call it PSP. We can do many things with it. We can play video games. What else can we do with it? We can watch movies, listen to the music and view the photos. I like playing video games. It’s interesting.

Hong’s favourite toy is not a PSP. Her favourite toy is a doll. She has some dolls, such as Doraemon dolls, Pocket monsters. But her favourite one is this Barbie doll. Hong can dress her up, talk with her and feed her food. This is Hong’s birthday present. Hong likes her best. Some children in our class like robots best. David’s favourite toy is this robot. It can do many things. It can play

music. It can sing and dance. It can speak English. It’s clever. David’s favourite toy is this robot because he makes it by himself.

Toys, you are my friends. We play together. You make me happy. You make me clever.

教学说明

今年三年级用的教材是经过改版的牛津教材,对于新的教材我们每个使用的教师都会有各自的理解和困惑。怎样更好对教材进行整合、调整和补充,使它更加符合我们学生的需要,可能是大多数教师面临的问题。

本节课是3B Module 2 Unit 2 Toys的内容,整个Module 2的主题是My favourite things, 其中Unit 1的主题是Animals, Unit 2的主题是Toys。本节课的话题是My favourite toy,为什么会定这样一个话题呢?定这个话题是由这个Module的主题和这个Unit的主题决定的。同时,也是由这届三年级学生的实际情况决定的。本班三年级的学生在两年级的时候已经学习过ball, doll等一些表示玩具的单词。在本Module的这一单元学习过I like …的句型。但是,对于为什么喜欢,学生很想表达,却苦于不知如何说起。正是学生表达的需要和本课教材的地位,我在这个单元的最后一个教时通过一个文本,来完成My favourite toy这个话题的讲述。

对于再构的文本之所以会形成现在呈现的一篇,也是由于本节课所要达到的task所决定的。本节课要完成的task是:学生利用学过的句型和词组构成自己的文本:My favourite toy。要完成这样一个task,学生一定要在词组、句型方面有所积累和增长;在听、说、读、写语言技能方面,要从听、说技能递进到读、写技能;在思维方面,学生首先要有真情实感,其次要形成理性的思考,学生才能表达出喜欢的理由。

接下来,我就以上三个方面说说这篇文本形成的过程和这节课备课中的思考:

1. 真情实感,言之有物

这节课的话题定为My favourite toy,这应该是个很贴近三年级学生的话题,toys对于孩子来说有着无限的吸引力。但是,三年级的学生究竟最喜欢什么玩具?你真的知道吗?我也曾自以为是的认为他们好像已经不喜欢什么玩具了,下课只看到他们拿把尺斗斗,弄张纸画画打仗。最多大概就是喜欢点毛绒玩具了。所以当我在课堂上只教好书上的几个单词后,问他们的favourite toy,并请他们讲讲喜欢的原因时,并没有引起他们多大的兴趣,好像在讲一件于己无关的事情。

为此,我也困惑了许久。在施老师和陈老师的提议下,我进行了一次英语加中文的调查。这下我了解了他们的真实想法,对于一些玩具的叫法,我也要去查。如:变形金刚玩具英语是transformers robot。大多数人熟悉的玩偶英语就是doll,只不过各种doll的名字不同,如:宠物小精灵英语是Pocket Monster,机器猫是Doraemon doll等等。还有许多学生热衷的PSP, 全称是Play Station Portable。让我感到每样东西都值得研究。在此基础上,我又进行Toys I like

了一次Survey的调查。如下表:

从中,我选出三样有代表性的玩具,作为这篇文本的三个段落。这下学生说的东西都是自己真正喜欢的,正在玩的,参与的热情无比高涨。因为有了真情实感,学生讲述的内容才更多样。也正是因为这件事,让我感到了解学生的需要是上好课的第一步。由于工作繁忙,由于孩子的羞于表达,由于无数种理

由,可能作为大人的我们在很多方面忽略了孩子的想法和需要,但这正是我们教育工作的第一步。

2. 语言技能,逐步增长

本节课的task是要学生利用学过的句型和词组构成自己的文本:My favourite toy。本节课是通过以下几步来完成的:

第一步:学生的讲述从like过渡到favourite。前几节课,学生都是讲I like …,而今天有所侧重的讲最喜欢的一样。

第二步:学生简单讲述自己最喜欢的一件玩具。这时的语言技能的训练都是听和说。

第三步:呈现教师的My favourite toy作为学生以后写作和说的范本,同时补充一些新的词组和表达法。

第四步:通过Fill in the blanks, Have a match, think and discuss 的形式,让学生逐步增长语言能力,逐步形成自己的My favourite toy 的语段。

这时,语言操练的重心逐步由听说,向读写过渡。

第五步:这时大文本的出现,其实是帮助学生归纳和整理刚才他们说过的段落。集体一起读第二段语段的目的在于帮助学生掌握一定的阅读技巧,即把需要获得的信息特别标注出来。为什么要请学生回答Why is Miss Feng’s favourite toy a PSP? 这个问题是要请每个同学思考,而后要请学生表达出来的。现在语段中画出,给学生提供了表达的范本,为他们自己的表达提供参考。所以,在掌握了一定技巧后,后面两段请学生一起读,并画出需要的语句。

第六步:学生经过理性的思考,构成自己的语段。因为学生的程度不同,所以分成两个层次。基础型:给一些最基本的句型,构成最基本的语段。拓展型:学生可以有自己的思考,句型、词汇不限。

3. 巩固积累,不断增长

本课内容是本单元的归纳总结和提升。所以,有一些学生能说的词组和词汇,要给学生进行一些归纳,对于一些表达上需要用到的,进行一些补充。

本课中Fill in the blanks, Have a match等的一些形式,都是给学生一些机会,让他们进行语言表达上的积累。

本课的一个大文本,其实是把学生在口头说过的一些表达,融入到语段中,落实到读和写的能力中去。
