1.Teaching Material

The teaching material is the reading part from New Standard English, Book 6 Module 3 Interpersonal Relationships---Friendship titled Roy's Story.

2.Students

The students are from Grade 2 who have enough vocabulary to understand the story and the basic reading skills and speaking skills. Ⅱ.Teaching Aims 1. Knowledge Objects 1). Help students find out some key words about time and make a performance.

2). Help students to get the general idea and specific information . 2. Ability Objects 1). To improve students' skimming and scanning ability . 2). 1).Show some pictures of class 33 on the screen to explain what is a friend.

A friend is someone who you have fun with! Friends are those you realize your dreams with!

He is someone who will do stupid/crazy things with you! 2). Introduce the famous saying. A friend in need is a friend indeed. 3). Ask the students to answer the following question. What is a friend indeed? a. someone who walks away. b. someone who stays and helps.

Step 2. Fast Reading Read the passage in two minutes and match the parts with the main ideas.

Part 1: (Para.1-2)

A. Unhappy things happened to Roy and he changed completely. Part 2: (Para.3)

B. The money raised for a charity was probably stolen by Roy.
