Unit 4 Learning About Language Grammar--Countable Noun & Uncountable Noun

一、Analysis of Teaching Material 教材分析

This grammar is about Countable Noun & Uncountable Noun. Students have learned this grammar in junior middle school.so they are familiar with it. This section of grammar is about the special usage of Noun,especially some nouns that can be used as both countable noun and uncountable noun.That is the key point of this period. After the learning of the special usage of some nouns,there are many exercises for students to enrich their knowledge.

二、Analysis of students 学情分析

My students are third-grade students of senior high school. They have been learning English in senior high school for more than two years and have accumulated a certain number of vocabularies. They have mastered some simple learning strategies and skills with a preliminary ability of speaking and analyzing. However, the differences in students' personality and English proficiency are very large. So my teaching design should meet the need of different students.

Step1、Lead—in 导入

This step is to lead the students to the topic of this unit—

[设计意图] 由一首流行歌曲填词导入本单元的语法学习。所填单词均为名词，引起学生对不同名词的关注和思考。其次设置问题让学生思考英语中有哪些种类的名词，为下面讲解名词的分类做了铺垫。

Step2、Classification of Nouns名词的分类

一、Proper Nouns: 专有名词

The specific name of some people or something. 二、Common Nouns：普通名词

all nouns except proper nouns. 普通名词包括：

1、Individual Nouns: 指作为个体而存在的人或东西。

2、Collective Nouns: 表示由个体组成的集体

3、Material Nouns: 指无法分为个体的东西。

4、Abstract Nouns: 表示一些抽象的概念。

[设计意图] 由名词的分类入手，让学生对名词的类别有一个直观的认识，为下一环节做了铺垫。

Step3、Video Teaching 微课教学

A short video help students review the usage of Countable Nouns and Uncountable Nouns. And bring about some uncountable nouns that can also be used as countable nouns.

本节课思路还算清晰，首先由一首流行歌曲填词导入本单元的语法学习。所填单词均为名词，引起学生对不同名词的关注和思考。其次设置问题让学生思考英语中有哪些种类的名词，为下面讲解名词的分类做了铺垫。紧接着引出了名词的分类，让学生对名词的类别有一个直观的认识，为下一环节做了铺垫。微课环节的设计是个小亮点，吸引了学生注意，有趣的讲解让学生更好的复习了前面所学的知识。一些可以兼作可数名词和不可数名词的名词让学生更加深入的了解了可数名词和不可数名词转化的用法。之后的翻译练习和高考练习是高三学生应对高考的必要环节和知识点的升华。总之，本课整体上完成了预先设定的教学目标，对学生的语法能力起到促进作用。但是学生在回答问题的表达方面还有所欠缺，日后还会继续培养锻炼学生的口头表达能力。谢谢。
