Unit 4 January is the first month. Lesson 19教学案例及评析
一、
教学背景
教材分析:
本课是人教精通版小学英语六年级上册第4单元第19课的第一课时。本单元的主要话题是一年中的前六个月份和其中的节日,单数课是以短文的形式呈现的。在每一个单数课中介绍两个月份以及其中的重要的中西方节日,通过这种方式可以让学生了解一些中西方文化节日和习俗。
本课通过短文,学习有关1月January和2月February的时间the first month, the second month、活动have a holiday, celebrate, go back home, have dumplings/rice cakes, 以及节日的英文表达New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Chinese New Year,并结合文本内容进行口头交流。
学情分析:
本课授课对象是六年级学生,通过三年的学习和积累,学生已经掌握一些表述时间和顺序的词语如day,week,year, first等;知道几个中西方重要的节日例如New Year,Christmas等。但对于月份的了解却很少,他们对于节日的话题比较感兴趣,但对于描述人们活动的词汇掌握的不多,可以将本课内容与现实生活进行联系,通过图片的引入引导学生进行口头表达。
教学目标:

学生能够学会1月和2 月的英文表达。
2)
学生能够听懂并正确认读January, February, first, second, New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Chinese New Year,have a holiday, celebrate, go back home, have dumplings/rice cakes等词汇。
3)
学生能够表述介绍月份、节日及人们活动的句子。
4)
通过学习了解涉及的中西方文化节日和习俗。
2.教学重、难点
教学重点:1月、2月、元旦、春节的名称。
教学难点:表述月份和节日的时间及人们的活动。

教学过程
1.
课前导入(Warm up and lead in)
1)
Warm up
教师在PPT上出示了一张图片,让学生说出能联想到的单词或句子。
T:Look, what’s this? What is it about? Can you say something about it?
学生说出一些单词clock,time, 或一些句子There are seven days in a week. There are
twenty-four hours in a day. 等。也有一些学生说出本课的内容There are twelve months in a year.
2)
Lead in T:
Usually, we use these words to talk about time. Today we will focus on month. 2.
呈现新知(Presentation)
1)T: Today , we will talk about two months and two festivals. Let’s look. 播放课文视频动画,找出本课的两个月份和两个节日。

T: Listen and answer, how many months are there in a year? And Which month is the first month.
学生听课文第一段的录音,回答两个问题,也找出了需要操练的句子There are twelve months in a year. January is the first month. 从这一环节开始,对表达完整、准确的孩子开始给予小奖励,鼓励学生大胆的表达。
T:

教师进行知识补充,一月名称的由来。
3)T: Look at the first day of January. We call it January 1st. It is special. It is a festival. We call it …
学生在教师的引导下关注一月的第一天,即一月一日,元旦。先分别操练January 1st和New Year’s Day,
再连成句子January 1st is called New Year’s Day. 4)借由上个环节出现的New Year’s Day, 教师直接发问:
T: What do people do on New Year’s Day? Listen and find the answer. S:
People have a holiday and they celebrate New Year’s Day, T :
How do people celebrate New Year’s Day? Let’s look. 教师由课文延伸出另一个问题,通过看短视频了解世界上许多国家的人们都庆祝元旦,并引导学生简单描述人们如何庆祝。
5)T:In China, we celebrate New Year’s Day. But we also have another new year. We call it …
通过图片引导学生说出中国新年,即春节的名称。
6)T: New Year’s Day is in January. How about Spring Festival ? Is it in January, too? S: Sometimes it is in January. But sometimes it is in February. 由词到句,学习句子February is the second month of the year. 7)
T: When is Spring Festival ? Let’s listen and say. 听课文第二段的录音,找出答案。
S: Spring Festival is usually in January or February. T: Now listen and follow.
学生跟读课文第二段。
8)T: People call Spring Festival Chinese New Year. For Chinese New Year, what do people do ?
Let’s listen. 听课文第三段录音,找出答案。课文中有五句话可以回答这个问题,学生可以挑选其中的任意一句回答,这里不强求每个句子都一词不差,意思对即可。
9)T: Look! Oh, so many people! What do they want to do? S: They want to go back home.
Why do they want to go back home ?
S:
They go back home to celebrate Spring Festival.
T: How do they go back home ? S: By train. / By plane. / By bus. / By car. / By motorbike. …
10)T : On the eve of the festival, people usually have …
S: On the eve of the festival, people usually have dumplings / fish. …
T : People in the south of China have …
S: People in the south of China have rice cakes / tangyuan / hot pot. …

巩固提高
(Practice) 1)T: During Spring Festival, I like eating shrimps. And I always paste couplets. Sometimes I light fireworks with my father. I can get lucky money from my grandparents. I’m very happy. How about you ? What do you eat, drink or do during Spring Festival ? Please talk about it with your partner.
And then share your story with us. 让学生自由讨论在春节的活动,教师也参与其中,给予必要的帮助,之后进行集中分享。
T: Now let’s look at something together.
2)T: We can all enjoy festival at home. But some people can’t. Who can not enjoy Spring festival at home? Think about it. S:
Doctors / Policemen / Some actors … can not enjoy the festival at home.
T: Yes. They must work for us. We should say “Thank you” to them. 4.

T: After Spring Festival, there is another Chinese traditional festival---Lantern Festival. Let’s read it. 学生读一篇和元宵节有关的短文,并做四个相关的选择题。

制作一张与元旦或春节相关的英语手抄报。
