Unit 1 My school Part B Let’s talk & Let’s play

Analysis of the teaching material In the last three lessons of this unit,students have learned function rooms of school, such as: library,music room,teacher’s office,garden,and the sentence patterns“Where’s the…?”“It’s on the ….”“Is this the…?Yes ,it is.No,

it isn’t.”.This lesson includes two parts: Let’s talk and Let’s play. In section 1, it mainly deals with the conversation about“Is that the…?Do you have a …?”and the answers. In section 2, it provides a real situation for the students to grasp the following new words: class,forty,way.

Analysis of the students Students have learned the above words and sentences.On this basis,students will continue to learn the relevant words and patterns. Therefore, on studying the teaching material and analyzing the regulation of children’s growing of mind,I put forward the teaching objectives according to new English lesson standard.

Analysis of teaching aims 1. Knowledge aims (1) The Ss can hear, read, and use the main sentence patterns “Is that the …?No,it isn’t.Do you have a …?Yes,we do.”.

(2) The Ss can understand and read the conversation of the lesson. 2. Ability aims (1) The Ss can use the sentence pattern of inquiring the function rooms , and further develop their language ability of “school”;

(2) The Ss can use the patterns to express their thoughts in the proper situation.

3. Emotion aims (1)By completing the task,the Ss increase their interests and set up self-confidence in language study;

(2) Teach the Ss tell the Ss “Beautiful compus is our home.Everybody is responsible for protecting the environment.

Analysis of key points

(1)Ss to study and use the sentence patterns “Is that

the …? No,it isn’t. Do you have a …?Yes,we do.”.

(2)To improve the Ss’ abilities in inquiring the function rooms.

(3)Teach the Ss how to study independently as well as by cooperation.

Analysis of difficult points (1) To help the Ss to speak“Is that the…?No,it isn’t.Do you have a …?Yes, we do.”and make sure they can use the structure correctly.

(2) To finish the tasks by themselves. Well, how to achieve the teaching objectives better, to stress the key points and break through the difficult points? The key is how to make use of the proper teaching methods, I’ll talk about my teaching methods below.

Analysis of teaching methods As we all know: the main aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations to help the Ss to get a better understanding

of the key structure of the dialogue.I will arrange four kinds of activities:chanting, singing, guessing game, role playing ,talking game and having a competition.

Analysis of studying methods Let Ss study in a relaxed and agreeable atmosphere. Ss understand the new knowledge in certain degree through the mental process of seeing, hearing, saying, observing, imagining and thinking. And make preparation for completing the new study task. After feeling and comprehending the language points, let Ss obtain the knowledge actively by proper study and cooperative study. Thereby, develop the Ss’ abilities of studying and working with the learning language independently.

Analysis of teaching process

In order to realize the teaching process systematically, properly and efficiently, under the principle of “regard Ss as the corpus, the teacher inspires for predominance”, I divide the teaching process into five steps.

Step1: Warm up (1)Greetings: T: Good morning, class! Ss: Good morning, Miss Young! T: How are you today? Ss:I’m fine,thank you.

(2)Let’ do

The teacher play the video of “ Let’s do”, all the students stand up and chant it together. (Design Intent: Make Ss feel pleased and satisfied, and can arouse exciting motion.) (3)Review the function rooms of school and the patterns Ss learned in section A of this unit . (Design Intent: Practice old to know new.) Step2: Presentation. Show the picture of Chenjie’s school,and tell the students today we will go to Chenjie’s school.

First,visit Chenjie’s classroom. Show the equipments(such as chair,desk,TV,door)one by one to help the Ss understand the difference between“this” and“that”.

Moreover, show several slides to present the transition of the sentence pattern “Is this the…? ”to “Is that the…? ”.And then do some relevant pracise to consolidate the patterns . (Note:Devide the students into two parts to compete before class,for example:boys and girls.) (Design Intent: In this course, Ss can understand and get the key points easier.) 2.a)At this time,there is a journalist to visit Chenjie’s school,too.Then watch the video, let the Ss know the conversation. Play the video again,and then answer my questions according to the conversation.

e.g.:

1.How many students are there in Chen Jie’s class?

2.Is there a library in her school? 3.Where’s the library?

b)Let Ss read after the teacher for twice,and then follow the tape for twice. (Design Intent:Through the video,teacher creat a real and live situation for the Ss to learn the new conversation and arouse their interests in English.) c)After be familiar with the text, let the Ss try to act out the dialogue in front of the board.

(Design Intent: Through the role playing, it achieved the teaching aim of understanding and talking the dialogue of this lesson.) Step3: Practice. (1)Let’s play

Use the word and sentence cards working in pairs to ask and answer as follows: Do you have a……?

Yes,we do. Where is it? It’s on the…….floor.

(2)Show the choice question on the screen,and Ss ask. (3)Fill in the blanks on the screen. (Design Intent:In this part,Ss can consolidate the new patterns by playing cards game.) Step4: Extension 1.I am a good writer. Teacher show a model essay,and encourage the students to make a similar one,eg: A:Welcome to our school. This is my _______. B:It’s so _______.

How many _______are there in your class? A: _______students. B:Is that the _______? A:No,____ ____.It’s the _______.

B:Do you have a _______? A:Yes, ____ ____.It’s on the ____ ____.This way,please.

2.Show a beautiful picture of school,tell the Ss “Beautiful compus,our home.Everybody is responsible for protecting the environment. ”.

(Design Intent:It’s a extention part,Ss can pracise their writing ability and learn to

protect the environment. ) Step 5:Homework

Work in groups of 4 to design a teaching building. According to the design,each group makes a dialogue and pratice. Perform the dialogue to your family.

Teaching notes In this lesson , what I design (not only the presentation of the main teaching poins,but

but also the activities) attract the students’ interests .Most Ss can take their points,

parts in the activities of this class, especially for the Ss who have trouble in English study. In the group activities, they can speak a little English with ease. With no doubt,

this will encourage them to speak English. As teachers,to make our Englis classrooms shine with vitality, we are laid with heavy burden, and we still have a long way to go.
