Animals Period 3 What’s your favourite animal? 一、教学背景分析
本节课是本模块的第三个课时。学生通过前两节课的学习,了解了一些动物的名称,并能够简单描述动物的外貌、居住地、生活习性及能力。本节课主要是在复习前两节课的基础上补充一些关于动物的词汇,通过学生自行总结描述动物的几大方面,并能给WAP(世界动物保护协会)写信,表达自己的心声,请求对自己最喜爱的动物实施保护,同时发现动物之美,为下一课时谈论如何保护动物做好铺垫。本节课通过游戏、小组合作、阅读等形式达到培养学生的语言能力、思想品质、文化品格和学习能力的核心素养的目标。
二、教学目标分析
(一)语言能力目标
1、巩固前两个课时所学的语言知识,补充几个学生较常接触的动物词汇:arctic fox,owl,crocodile,leopard 2、能熟练运用以下句型描述动物:
What does ...look like?
It is.../It has.../It looks like... What can it do?
It can... Where does it live?
It lives in... What does it like eating?
It likes eating... 3、综合运用所学的语言给WAP(世界动物保护协会)写信,请求保护自己最喜爱的动物。

(二)思维品质目标
1、通过小游戏,养成学生的观察能力,并能联想动物毛色与所生长环境的关系;
2、通过小组合作描述动物,促进应用、创新等思维能力的发展;
3、通过阅读提高阅读的分析、理解、解题、思辨的能力。
(三)文化品格目标
在本课学习中,学生回顾前两课所学的知识,通过复习和拓展,了解动物的饮食习惯、生活习性和居住环境,激发热爱动物的情怀,重视动物的生存环境和现状,培养社会责任感。
(四)学习能力目标
1、通过阅读、观察、上网查找资料等,提高学生提取信息、加工信息的能力;
2、通过观察、小组合作、阅读和写作活动,培养合作学习意识以及分析问题、整理信息的能力。
三、教学重难点
能熟练运用以下核心句型,用笔头给WAP(世界动物保护协会)写信,表达自己的心声,请求对自己最喜爱的动物实施保护,真正做到学以致用。

Ⅰ. Warming up

Guessing game:老师通过让学生猜自己最好的朋友,引出Peter Rabbit。
Sharp eyes:看图片,找出图中隐藏的Peter Rabbit的动物朋友。
[设计意图:通过热身游戏,吸引学生的注意力,并引入今天的主题。游戏结束后引导学生思考一个问题:Why is it difficult to find out the animals in those pictures?培养学生的思辨与联想能力。] 这一环节补充几个学生较常接触的动物的词汇:arctic fox,owl,
crocodile, leopard。
Ⅱ. Revision 1.
Look at the pictures and speak out Peter Rabbit’s friends. [设计意图:复习学过的部分动物的名称] 2.

One student ask the teacher some questions.(lion) 引导学生学会通过提问了解动物的信息。

Its tail can be a metre long, and it is used for balance and can keep its body warm. It lives in the middle of the Asia. It likes eating meat. It weighs about 50 to 80 kilos. The snow leopard can jump far. But now it is in danger because people kill the snow leopard for fur. There are only 7000 wild snow leopards left in the world.
