Teaching aims: 1.

Ss can listen, read, write and speak these words: card, chair, me, him, them etc. And they master phrases: watch TV, read newspaper, play cards, write a letter, sit in a chair, sit at a small table etc. Ss can know about the Present Continuous tense, and apply with it. 2.

Ss can understand and retell part 1, and let Ss apply to communicate and describe. 3.

Teacher encourages Ss to talk about their living room and their family. It can help Ss join in and strengten their cooperation. 4.

According to living room and description of family, teacher can tell Ss how to cherish familial affection, love parents. Teaching difficult and important points: 1.

Let Ss watch a short VCR, and answer the question. Step 3: Review 1.

Review some phrase that the Ss have leart. 2.

The teacher says: No.1 stand up. (she is standing now.) No. 2 stand up. (They are standing up.) 3.

According to the pictures, the teacher says: What is Jenny/Danny doing? Step 4: New concept 1.

Let Ss listen, and answer questions. ① What are Lynn and Bob doing? ② What is Li Ming doing? ③ What are Mr. and Mrs. Smith doing? ④ What are Jenny and Danny doing? 2.

Let Ss listen again, and answer questions.

Writing Let Ss write a short passage about their family in the living room. Step 6: Homework According to the picture, Ss should write a short passage to describe.
