Activity3:Watch a short video about the movie Forrest Gump

and try to understand the spirits passed by the movie ,which is also a paved way to understanding the usage of subjunctive mood in an interview. Activity4: Listen to an interview with Forrest Gump and underline the If-sentences Gump was a physical disabled man. When he was a little child , classmates often laughed at him, but he didn’t give in to bad situations . Positive living attitude brought him first miracle that his broken legs got well. From studying in a special school to play ball well, being a hero of Vietnam War , and being a millionaire to running all over the USA. Gump achieved success other normal people admire.

Interviewer:

Mr Gump! As we all know, you were always running. Gump: Well. Running is a life attitude, which makes me understand we should always go on during our life journey. 2

No. 9 High School Interviewer: As we all know, you are from a poor family and have a low IQ just 75 but how do you achieve so much big success which other people admire. Gump: Despite those, I’m always positive, determined and sticks to my simple goal or belief. If I had been negative and distracted before, I couldn’t have succeeded. If I hadn’t had firm beliefs, I wouldn’t have overcome hardships.

Interviewer: It is said that your life is inspired by your mum. Gump: Yes. Mum always said “life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get” which suggested to accept what the life is and make the best use of it .If I hadn’t had her instructions, I wouldn’t have been so positive and determined before.. Interviewer: If you had a choice to live your favourite life in the future, what kind of life would you choose? Gump: If I were to have/ should have a chance to live over some day, I would still choose to be kind, hopeful , determined and follow my goals firmly.
