Teaching Plan Student: The students of senior two of high school have learned English for serval years. They understand some words, simple sentences and compound sentences. They are curious, active, and they also have some reading skills or learning strategies. They enjoy learning through different activities with the relaxing atmosphere.

Teaching Content: student’s book 6: module2

Fantasy Literature ---Reading and vocabulary. Teaching hour: One class hour (40 minutes)

Teaching plan:

I. Teaching Aims and Demands:

1．Aims of the knowledge:

（1）To know the spelling of some words and usage of some useful phrases. To learn something about J.K Rowling and her master piece--- Horry Potter.

（2）（3）To grasp the main idea of this passage and use the information to talk about the questions. 2．Aims of the abilities: （1）To improve the ability of getting information by reading. （2）To improve the ability of grasping the passage’s main idea.

3．Aims of the emotion: （1）To appreciate the story of J.K Rowling and her master piece--- Horry Potter. （2）To know the success and experience about Rowling.

II. Teaching emphasis：

1.To master the main idea of this passage. 2.To get the ability of general reading and getting information. 3. Master some phrases and some sentence patterns.

VII. Teaching Procedures: Stage 1: Greeting and lead-in.[3 minute]

Teacher will greet students warmly and show a video at first, then guide students to talk about it.

Stage 2 Background information. [2minutes] Teacher will introduce the main characters about this book and show some basic information about the writer. Then introduce this class’s topic.

Stage 3: While-reading.

Step 1：Fast-reading. [5minutes]

Teacher will give students 3 minutes to read the passage quickly and to match the main idea about each paragraph which presented on their paper.

(teacher will go around the classroom to see their performance) Three minutes later, teacher will guide students to check the answers. And students will read these main ideas together. Then teacher will guide students to divide the passage into three parts according to the main ideas.

Step 2: Careful reading. Task 1: the best choice. [6 minutes] 1.Teacher will give students 3 minutes to read the passage carefully and to find out the answers of the 2 questions of part 1 and then check it together.

Teacher will give students 3 minutes to read the passage carefully and to find out the answers of the 2 questions of part 2 and then check it together. 3.

Teacher will give students 5 minutes to read the passage carefully and to fill in the blanks and then check it together. 4.Teacher will check the answers by inviting students to share their answers one by one, at the same time, teacher will present the answer’s location with the pictures

taken from the text book on the screen.

Task 2: Summary [2minutes]

Teacher will make a brief summary about this passage and the ladder success’s of J.K Rowling.

Step 3 Post-reading.

[10minutes] 1.Group – work: Teacher will let students discuss the three topics on the screen in their group of four.

2.Show time: Teacher will invite students to show their ideas.

3. Teacher’s words.

Step 4: Homework. [1 minutes] Teacher will show their homework on the screen.
