本课是PEP五年级下Unit4 When is Easter

PartB Read and write，这是一篇阅读课。本文分为读写两部分。第一部分要求学生阅读四篇日记，第二部分为朗读和连线练习。要求学生将小猫出生后的变化和相应的日期练线。第三部分为有意义的抄写句子活动。在学习本课之前，学生已经学习了关于月份和日期的正确使用，因此在本课中将会再次复习日期的读法。本课中出现了几个生词，需要引导学生在阅读中逐步理解。学习完本课后，要求学生能够复述文章的大概脉络，并且能熟练描写动物的基本特征。通过前面的大量输入与铺垫，最后达到输出的效果。学生能够通过图片来描述其它动物的成长过程。

二、学情分析

本课教材针对的是五年级的学生，他们已经有了两年半的英语学习经历，对英语学习仍然较大的热情，并且能够熟练运用一些单词和句子。他们能够自由谈论天气，日期，人物性格特征等。在语法上，他们能够运用they are, it is, they have, it has等基本语言来进行区分和描述。五年级的学生已经能够根据图片书写简单的小句子，为本文最后的书写打下铺垫。

三、教学目标 1、知识目标：

（1）学生能够掌握句子中的生词，如diary, fur, make noises, still等。

（2）学生能够读懂句子并完成读后活动。

2、技能目标：

（1）能够正确流利有感情地朗读短文

（2）能够完成个性化的书写活动。

3、情感目标：

（1）激发学生的英语学习兴趣,培养良好的英语学习习惯。

（2）培养学生热爱动物，保护动物的意识。 四、教学重难点 教学重点: 1、能够读懂日记并进行正确流利地朗读。

2、能够掌握句子中的生词，如diary, fur, make noises, still等。 教学难点: 能够根据描述动物的要点，来进行独立描述动物，完成书写活动。

Step1: Warming up 1.

Free talk T: Good morning, children. Ss: Good morning, Miss Zhong. T: What’s the date today? Ss: ...... T: When is your birthday? Ss：......

Enjoy an English song. T: let’s enjoy an English song. Please listen carefully, and then tell me what animal you can see in this song. T: What animal can you see? Ss: I can see..... (dog, rabbit, chicken, cat) Step2: Presentation 1.

The T shows the pictures of baby animals.

T: Great! Look, they are the babies of these animals.We can call them baby... Lead the Ss speak baby dog, baby rabbit ect. T: Yeah, you are so clever. But today I want to show you some new words of these baby animals.

T shows the new words, puppy, bunny, chick and kitten. And teach the Ss to read them.

T present a picture of a white cat. Then introduce it.

T: Our old friend Sarah has a cat. Look! This is her cat. What’s it like？

T: Look at the fox. It has... Ss: It has...( red fur) T: How about the bear? Ss: It has ...( brown fur) T shows the picture of a diary. T: Recently, Sarah’s cat has two new kittens. She likes them very much. So she write diary about them every day.

T: This is the diary of the two new kittens. Now can you guess the meaning of Diary? Ss：..... T: Good job. Today we will learn four diaries about the two new kittens.

Task1: Have a fast reading. Read quickly and circle the dates. T: Who can read the four dates for us? Ss: ......

T: Great Let’s listen and read again. This time, please circle the new words.

T explain these new words and teach them to read. Then lead the Ss practise in different ways. Task2：Listen carefully, then number the pictures. T present pictures of the two new kittens in different times. Ask Ss to number them in right order. Task3: Have a detailed reading. Read the first diary carefully, and answer three questions about them. Q1: How old are they? Q2: What are they like? Q3: What can’t they do?

T plays the tape of the first diary. Let Ss listen and repeat. Then T gives some sentence pattern, let Ss try to retell the diary. Task4: Group work. Read the second diary in groups. And discuss to get the answers of the three questions. Task5：Self-study. Read aloud, and try to be a little teacher.

Let the Ss read the fourth and the fifth diary. Then ask someone to be a little teacher. Step3： Practice 1.

Let Ss try to retell the fourth diaries according the main sentence patterns. 2.

If you are Sarah, write a new diary about the two new kittens. T give an example of a new diary. And give Ss some useful expressions and useful words. Let them write a new diary. Step4: Sum-up T plays the tape again, and lead the Ss listen and repeat to review the diaries. Good to know:Animals are our friends. They are cute and helpful. They brings happiness to our life. We should protect animals. Step5: Homework 1.
