本单元课时的内容是通过对文章的理解让学生了解如何描述对人的第一印象，学会人际关系的处理。学好对人物描写的写作方法在本单元中也占有相当重要的地位。

掌握重点单词，重点句子以及重点句型。

●教学难点

学完本篇课文之后如何运用本篇学过的句型，以及如何描写人物。

我们生活在错综复杂的社会现实中，往往会遇到各种各样的人，可能在交往中会产生一些矛盾和误会。我们怎样处理这些情况呢？那么我们就通过对本文的学习，了解并学好如何处理人与人之间的关系。

1．The_first_time I met Tom，he seemed to be allergic to everything.(教材P14)我第一次遇到汤姆的时候，他似乎对一切都很敏感。

the first time是连词，意为“第一次”，在句中引导时间状语从句。

The first time I met him，I fell in love with him. 我第一次看到他时，就喜欢上他了。

The first time I went to Hangzhou，I was struck by the beautiful scenery. 我第一次去杭州时，就被它美丽的风景深深吸引住了。

表示时间的名词短语可以引导时间状语从句，主要有三种情况：

①the＋序数词＋time，如：

the last time 最后一次(……时) ②every/each/next＋time，如：

every time 每次(……时) ③the＋表示时间的名词，如：

the moment/minute/second/instant... 一……就……

Take me next time you go abroad. 下次你去国外时，带我一起去。

Every time he comes here，he asks me for money. 他每次来，都向我要钱。

I started the moment I got your letter. 我一收到你的信就动身了。

完成句子

The teacher praised her for her anxiety for knowledge.

①with anxiety 着急

be in great anxiety 非常担忧

②anxious adj.忧虑的；担心的；焦急的；渴望的；急切的

be anxious about/at/for...为……担忧

be anxious to do/that...渴望做……

He was waiting for his brother's return with anxiety. 他焦虑地等着弟弟归来。

I'm anxious about her safety. 我为她的安全担心。

I'm really anxious to see him. 我急于见他。

anxious/eager

anxious 强调“担心，忧虑”，对结果感到不安。

eager 强调对成功的“渴望”，含有积极的意义。

She is eager to go to college，but anxious about not passing the entrance examinations. 她渴望上大学，但又担心不能通过入学考试。

【提示】

anxious作表语时，that从句中谓语动词用“should＋动词原形”。

完成句子

①我们等候的时候充满了焦虑。

这个句子里用到了the＋比较级．..，the＋比较级．..这种句式意为“越……，越……”。

The more they talked，the more encouraged they felt. 他们越说越感到受鼓舞。

The more expectation，the more disappointment. 期望越大，失望越大。

英语中用“the＋比较级，the＋比较级”结构，表示“越……，越……”。这种结构通常从句在前，主句在后，即：第一个the＋比较级为状语从句，第二个the＋比较级为主句。这种结构中的谓语动词一般情况下：主句用将来时态，从句用一般现在时态(代替将来时态)。

The more you learn，the more you wish to learn. 你学得越多，你越是想学。

The sooner you start，the sooner you will finish. 你开始得越早，你就完成得越快。

完成句子

句中with a book in her hands是with复合结构，在句中作伴随状语。with复合结构在句中可作定语和状语(表示原因、时间、条件、伴随、方式等)。

with＋复合宾语结构的构成：

①with＋宾语＋介词短语

②with＋宾语＋现在分词

③with＋宾语＋过去分词

④with＋宾语＋动词不定式

⑤with＋宾语＋形容词

⑥with＋宾语＋副词

English lessons are broadcast every day on the radio with explanations in English and other languages. 广播电台每天播放英语课程，并用英语或其他语言进行解说。

They young woman，with a baby sleeping in her arms，was wandering in the street. 那位年轻妇女，怀抱一个熟睡的婴儿，漫步在大街上。

The boy was crying with the toy broken. 玩具坏了，那男孩在哭。

With so many essays to write，he won't have time to go shopping this morning. 他有那么多文章要写，今天没有时间去买东西。

With the floor wet，I had to stay outside. 由于地板潮湿，我只得待在屋外。

With her sister out，she had to stay at home alone. 因为她的姐姐出去了，她只得独自待在家里。

【对接高考】

(2012·辽宁高考)The old couple often take a walk after supper in the park with their pet dog________them. A．to follow

B．following C．followed

D．follows 【解析】

句意：这对老夫妇经常晚饭后在公园散步，他们的宠物狗跟着他们。考查非谓语动词作宾补。首选排除D项。在with复合结构中，非谓语动词的逻辑主语their pet dog与follow是主动关系，排除C项。A项不定式常表示将要发生的事情，不符合题意。
