一、教学材料分析

“New Zealand: Land of the Long White Cloud”

一文选自人教版2003课标版Book 11 第一单元

New Zealand 的阅读文章。本文的写作思路很清晰，以叙述的方式，主要从新西兰的地理和历史来介绍它，而且以时间为主轴展开叙述，这让整篇文章的结构很清晰，也使读者更加容易理解文章的内容。对高二的学生来说，主要的困难在于课文中出现的一些地理名词以及新西兰这个国家的一些主要城市的英文单词。

二、学情分析

本课的授课对象为高二下学期的学生。学生经过一年半的学习，已经初步具备了获取和处理信息、分析和解决问题的能力，并且基本掌握略读、跳读等阅读技能。但是由于词汇量和学生基础比较差的原因，在分析和理解掌握一些重要句型和一些生词上还有待加强。因此，在进行讲解本课文的最后环节，想让学生先翻译一些相关句型，最后让学生组织语言，以口头的形式表达出如何介绍中国这个国家。

三、整体设计思路

本节课的定位为一节读写结合课。

本节课主要设计问题，通过阅读技能即

skimming、fast reading、careful reading and further reading等等来寻找问题的答案，其中有personal work，也有 group work环节。本节课的亮点在于最后把很困难的一段介绍中国的英文，通过分解，让学生一句一句地翻译，最后再以口头的形式表达出来，以便达到训练学生口头表达的能力。

四、教学目标

Step I Use a brainstorming and a video about New Zealand to absorb students’ attention. (这部分的设计主要是起到导入的作用，以及让学生对新西兰的食物，旅行等感兴趣，从而把学生的注意力吸引回到课堂当中。) Step II In two parts of warming up and pre-reading, let students answer some questions about New Zealand before reading the whole text. (这部分的设计主要让学生对新西兰有一个基本的认识，包括新西兰的地理以及历史等方面。) Step III In the part of reading, let students answer some questions and do some exercises, including personal work and group work. (这部分的设计主要让学生掌握本课文的主旨大意以及关于新西兰地理和历史两大方面的细节信息。) Step IV In the role-play part, students first translate sentences one by one and then take a few minutes to organize these sentences.
