Unit 13 People Lesson 2 Personalities and Jobs

Analysis of teaching material: The theme of this lesson is “personalities and jobs”, which is about different people with their personalities. This lesson includes two periods, this period focus on the listening and speaking. Students listen to the listening material, which is a class discussion on jobs and personalities. With the help of the listening strategies, students can not only practice listening in order to identify opinions, but also get familiar with different ways of giving opinions. Analysis of the students: My students are in rural area, they are mostly poor in English although they are in grade two. They need to improve and practice listening skills under the guidance of the listening strategies. During this period, they can not only practice their listening skills but also get familiar with different ways of giving opinions, which are also useful for their oral English. Teaching Objectives:

Teaching procedures: Step I. Pre-reading Lead-in :(Brainstorming) 1. Play a song named “Be what you wanna be”, try to listen for the jobs in the lyrics. 2. Show some pictures of jobs and ask the students to discuss the qualities needed for the different jobs.
