Step 1. Free talk

Look, I have two books here. One is Grimm’s Fairy Tales and the other is a book about the Monkey King. Do you like reading stories?

S: Yes, we do.

T: There are many interesting stories in Grimm’s Fairy Tales, for example, Snow White and seven short men, Cinderella…Do you like reading foreign stories or Chinese stories?

S: Both.

T: Yes, we like Chinese fairy tales. There are many funny characters in them, the Monkey King, Nezha, the old Dragon King. Sometimes we watch cartoons about them. Today we will learn another interesting story about a lovely and beautiful girl. Her name is Cinderella. Do you know her?

S: Yes, her Chinese name is “灰姑娘”.

Step 2. Presentation

T: Do you know anything about Cinderella?

S: Cinderella is very poor. She lives with her step-mother. Her step-mother wasn’t nice to her. She always asked Cinderella to do a lot of housework. Cinderella didn’t have nice clothes or shoes. She is very poor!

T: Yes, she is. But she is lucky, too.

Step 3. Presentation

Ss read story time. Answer some questions.

5.Whose shoe is it?

Role –play the story.

Discuss: Why does the fairy help Cinderella? S1; Because the fairy likes Cinderella.

S2: Because Cinderella is kind and helpful. S3: Because Cinderella is poor.

T: Can Cinderella have a happy life in the future? S: Yes, she can.

T: Why?

S: Because she becomes the wife of the prince. Step 4. Homework
