教材分析:

这是一节关于西方节日——圣诞节的新授课。它介绍的是圣诞节的一些风俗习惯。本课内容和学生的日常生活有一定的联系,在四年级的时候他们已经接触了一些节日,如:New Year’s

Day , Children’s Day , Teachers’ Day …而且学生对于西方的节日文化有了一定的了解,因此我认为这对他们理解课文有很大的帮助。在理解课文的同时,也让学生学会礼貌待人。

教学目标:

1.能使学生听、说、读、写下列单词:holiday, bring, give, song; 认读Christmas, Christmas tree, lights, Western, special, Santa…; 掌握句子:Christmas is a Western holiday. They bring gifts for us. We sing Christmas songs. 和日常用语:Merry Christmas! Have fun together! 2.能使学生通过小组合作和互相交流来完成教学任务,

3.能使学生了解中西文化差异,有礼貌的和他人进行交流。

教学准备:

关于圣诞节的图片,圣诞老人衣服,录音机,多媒体课件

教学过程:

Step 1 Class opening and review 1. Greeting T: Hello, boys and girls! S: Hello, Ms. Chen! T: How are you today? Ss: I’m fine, thank you! And you? T: I’m fine, too! Nice to meet you! Ss: Nice to meet you, too!

T: Do you like to play games? Ss: Yes! T: OK! Let’s play a game first. 2. Play a game “What holiday is it?”

教师出示课件幻灯片,并根据图片内容提问:

①“What holiday is it?”

②“When is the holiday?”

学生看图片猜节日,及节日的时间。

T: Today I bring some pictures, through these pictures, can you guess what holidays they are? S: It is _____ T: I like National Day. Because on the holiday, I don’t work. Do you like it? S: Yes. T: Why? S: Because we don’t go to school.

(设计意图:通过轻松的谈话和游戏吸引学生的注意力,同时复习已经学过的节日名称和时间,自然地引出holiday一词)

Step 2 New Concepts 1. Free talk Lesson 19 Christmas is Coming! 教学设计

T: In these holidays, I like Spring Festival, because I can eat delicious food. I don’t go to school. I have a long time holidays. I can stay at home. What do you like? Do you like Children’s Day? Why? Which holiday do you like? (设计意图:通过学生模仿教师的句型自由谈论自己喜欢的节日,锻炼学生的口头表达能力。) T: That’s wonderful! In the western country, it has an important holiday in winter, just like Chinese Spring Festival. Do you know it? Can you guess? (设计意图:学生通过预习,能猜出这个节日名称——圣诞节) 引出“Christmas”一词及句子:Christmas is a Western holiday. 扩词练习(示幻) 适时的对比今天和圣诞节两个日期,引出本课的标题Christmas Is Coming!

对语法点“现在进行时表示将来时”进行了初步渗透。

2. Learn the new words

然后利用课件或实物呈现本课涉及的单词

Christmas tree, lights, gifts, Santa, bring, give。

T: Look, What’s this?

S: It’s a Christmas tree.

T: What color is the Christmas tree?

S: It’s green. T: What are these? S: These re Christmas lights. T: What’s on the Christmas tree?

S: Christmas lights are on the Christmas tree. T: Yes, and these are Christmas gifts.

T: Look, He is Santa ( Father Christmas ). T: Who is Santa? S: He is a merry man in red clothes.

T: Do you love Santa? Why?

S: Yes. Santa brings gifts for us. He gives us gifts. He always say “Merry Christmas”

(设计意图:通过多媒体课件使学生印象深刻,注意力集中,能保持对英语学习的兴趣。同时便于学生清楚地记忆,为下面的学习打下基础。)

3. Game: What’s

missing? 4. Learn the text 出示课件,先让学生通过朗读问题了解问题的意思,再通过听课文录音初步了解课文内容,然后以小组的形式学习课文。最后全班交流,解决问题。

T: OK, let’s learn the holiday in groups, and try to answer.

(1) What is Christmas? (2) Do children go to school on Christmas Day? (3)When is Christmas? (4) Who is Santa? Do you like him? Why? (设计意图:通过小组成员之间的交流合作达到锻炼学生口语表达、听说能力、思维的目的,而且了解合作的重要,便于进一步理解课文内容。)

2. 出示课件,学后练习。简单的描述圣诞节, 给出提示,小组共同完成。

3. Compare “ Christmas “ and “ “the Spring Festival”

T: Christmas is very important in Western just like the Spring Festival in China. Could you tell something for us? (Discuss in group of four, then find some volunteers say something.) S1: We don’t go to school on those days.

S2: We invite our friends to our house. S3: We send gifts to each other.

T: Good! On the Spring Festival, we say “ Happy New Year”. On Christmas, we say “ Merry Christmas”. 通过中西方节日文化的对比,满足学生的好奇心和求知欲。小组的讨论形式有利于培养学生的合作精神和互助精神,也可以使一些胆小的学生在小组内敢于开口说英语。

Step4 课外拓展

你们想知道圣诞老人是怎么派送礼物的吗?Now let’s read a story.出示课件,讲述圣诞节时孩子们准备长筒袜,并在睡觉前放在床头,圣诞老人从烟囱钻到家中,派送礼物。

Santa was the descendant of a deity called Odin. It's also said that Christmas father comes from San Nichola, so he is also called St. Nicholas. He was the bishop of Asia Minor city of Rafah and he was called a man of god after his death. He is an old man in red clothes and he wears a red hat. He has white mustache. He comes from the north on a blowmobile every Christmas day. He went into people's houses by the track and he put the presents into children's socks. So in western countries, parents put the gifts to their kids in kids' socks and put them on the head of the bed on Christmas Eve. On the second day, the first thing after kids wake up is to find the presents from Christmas fathers. 圣诞老人为奥丁神后裔。也传说称圣诞老人由圣•尼古拉而来,所以圣诞老人也称St. Nicholas。据说他原是小亚细亚每拉城的主教,名叫圣尼古拉,死后被尊为圣徒,是一位身穿红袍、头戴红帽的白胡子老头。每年圣诞节他驾着鹿拉的雪橇从北方而来,由烟囱进入各家,把圣诞礼物装在袜子里挂在孩子们的床头上或火炉前。所以,西方人过圣诞节时,父母把给孩子的圣诞礼物装在袜子里,圣诞夜时挂在孩子们的床头上。第二天,孩子们醒来后的第一件事就是在床头上寻找圣诞老人送来的礼物.
