3.The pupils can sing and mime the action song. Teaching aids: 1. Listening cassette. 2. Some word cards with pictures. 3. PPT about the lesson.

Teaching procedures: Step1 Warming up.

1.

A game. The teacher gives the instructions and does the actions, then ask the students to mime. E.g. Stand up. Sit down. Look. Cry. Smile. Stamp your feet. Go to sleep. Step2. Presentation. 1.

Show the story: Hide and seek. The teacher introduces the story. 2.

Have the students talk about the story in Chinese. 3.

Have the students talk about the characters’

feeling in the story. E.g. How is he/she feeling? 4.

Teach the feeling words. Tell the students to listen and read the words following the PPT. 5.

Practice the sentence patterns. E. g. Happy, happy, happy, He is happy. (angry, sad, tired, scared.) 6. Play the guessing game: a. Tell Ss to watch the picture and guess: How is Toby feeling now? b. Practice again. 7. Ask Ss to listen and number the pictures. 8. Ask Ss to watch the feeling words and the pictures. 9. Teach the action words and phrases: smile, cry, stamp his feet, go to sleep.

10. Ask Ss to look at the feeling words and do the actions, then change over. Ask Ss look at the verbs and say the corresponding feeling words. E. g . Toby’s____, ____, ____. And he cries. 11. Have the students listen and sing the song. Then ask them to sing the song and do the actions. Step3. Practice. 1.

Play the game: Show the feeling words and ask the students to find the corresponding verbs. 2.

Show the football match and ask the students to talk about the feeling of the people.
