xu Lili Distinguished judges, Ladies and Gentlemen, Good morning! It’s my great pleasure to stand here. It’s really a great opportunity for me to meet you and share my lesson with you. Here is my presentation of my teaching plan for the target content. I will explain my lesson from the following 9 aspects. Ⅰ. The Analysis of Teaching Material.

In this lesson, I’m going to talk about Unit 5 Do You Like Candies? Part A which is from Shan Xi Travel Press Primary English Book 2, Grade 3. It mainly focuses on the topic “food” and expressions of likes and dislikes. This topic is related to our daily life, which enable students to use simple words and expressions to express their eating habit.

Ⅱ. The Analysis of Students’ Situation. My students are in Grade 3. They are active and curious, interested in every kind of new things. After learning English for half a year, they already have some basic English background knowledge. For example, they have some vocabulary about foods, fruits, drinks, animals, colors, stationary, and so on. So it is essential to integrate the old knowledge into the new lesson. It is also very important to develop students’ keen interest in English.

Ⅲ. Teaching Aims and Demands. According to the new curriculum standard, and combining with students’ situation. I set the teaching aims as follows: 1.

The aims of knowledge. ·to read, recognize, and use the new words and phrases. ·to use the sentence pattern to express their likes and dislikes. ·to do the survey in groups. 2.

The aims of skills. ·to understand the new words and phrases through some picture prompts. ·to communicate with each other in English. ·to work in groups skillfully. 3.

The aims of emotion. ·to cooperate well in group works. ·to cultivate good eating habits in the future. ·to be more and more initiative and creative. Ⅳ. Teaching Key Points and Difficulties. 1.

To use the new words and sentences to express likes and dislikes. 2.

To pay attention to the plural forms of nouns. 3.

To enable Ss to work and cooperate in groups skillfully.

Ⅴ. Teaching and Learning Methods. As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’

basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use Task-based Teaching Method as well as Communicative Teaching Method. That is to say, I’ll let students learn in real situations, finish some tasks such as making a chant or doing a survey to help them get a better understanding of the key words and structures. I will arrange 8 kinds of tasks: singing, guessing game, making chants, hitting the mouse, radish down, paper scissor stone, making a survey and playing a performance. These tasks can help Ss analyze and solve the problems on their own. They can get information and learn from listening, watching and discussing.

Ⅵ. Teaching Aids. In order to interest the students, I’ll use multimedia equipment, word cards, some candy pictures and worksheet to assist my teaching, Ⅶ. Teaching Procedures and Purpose. Step 1. Warm up. / Revision. (3 minutes) 1.

Let’s sing 《Ten Little Monkeys.》

Let’s review.( Review some words about animal.) Animals are going to have a party. They prepared a lot of food. Review some words about food, fruit, and drink. Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by singing and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge. Step 2. Presentation. (15 minutes) These foods are not enough. They need more. Let’s help them. Learn new words: Purpose: Using cartoon image to stimulate No.1 cake Ss’ interest. 1). Show a picture of the Aladdin’s Wonderful Lamp. Q: What’s in it? (Let Ss guess.) Present the new word: cake

2). Listen and read the new word “cake”. Purpose: It can facilitate Ss abilities to pronounce

Pay attention: a says /ei/. the word and help them remember the word easily..

Let’s chant: cake, cake, I can see.

cake, cake, for you and me. 3). Show some cakes on the screen.

Q: How many cakes can you see?

Learn the plural form: cakes.

No.2 candy 1). Show a video about rainbow candy.

Q: What can you see? Purpose: Using Advertisement to stimulate Ss’ interest.

2). Listen and read the new word: candy.

Pay attention: a says /æ /, y says /i/ 3). Ask Ss try to make a chant by themselves.

________, ________, I can see. Purpose: To foster Ss’ ability of creation and innovation.

________, ________, for you and me. 4). Show some candies on the screen.

Q: What can you see?

A: Some candies.

Learn the plural form: candies.

Teach Ss that we should change y into i, then plus es in its plural form. 7). Moral education.

Candies are good. Candies are sweet. But don’t eat too many candies everyday. That’s not good for your teeth. No.3 cookie Purpose: Using Advertisement to stimulate Ss’ interest. 1). Show a video about Chips Ahoy.

Q: What can you see?

Present the new word: cookie.

Purpose: to develop Ss’ abilities of listening and speaking. 2). Listen and read the new word.

Let Ss find out oo says /u/, ie says /i/ 3). Ask Ss try to make a chant as follows：

________, _________, for you and me. 4). Show a picture of some cookies.

Q: How many cookies?

A: Three cookies.

Learn the plural form: cookies.

No.4 banana Purpose: Using the cartoon image and song to 1). Play a song about the Minions. stimulate Ss’ interest.

Q: Who is singing?

A: They are Minions.

They are singing about their favorite food.

Present the new word: banana. 2). Listen and read the word.

Let Ss find out the first and the third alphabet a says /ə/, the second a says /a:/. 3). Show some bananas on the screen.

Q: How many bananas? A: Four bananas.

Learn the plural form: bananas. No.5 grapes 1). Draw a picture about grapes. Let Ss think what they are.

Present the new word: grapes. 2). Show some grapes.

Q: What can you see?

A: Some grapes.

Learn the plural form: grapes. No.6 tea 1). Let Ss do an addition question:

water (picture) + leaves (picture) = ?

Present the new word: tea. Purpose: To train Ss’

abilities of analysis, 2). Listen and read the new word. observation and innovation.

Let Ss find out ea says /i:/. 3) Tell Ss , it is an uncountable noun. No.7 bread 1). Look at the mouse Jack. The bad mouse is stealing our bread.

Present the new word: bread. 2). Read and do the action: Bread, bread, bread.

Yummy, yummy, yummy. 3). Show a picture of some bread. Purpose: Using some simple actions to interest Ss.

Q: Do you like bread?

(Let Ss answer and pay attention that bread is an uncountable noun.) Learn the sentence pattern.

Q: Do you like cakes？

A: Yes, I do.

B: No, I don’t.

Step 3. Drills. (7 minutes)

Game 1: Radish Down. The whole class students ask: bread, bread, where is the bread? The student holding the word card answers: bread, bread, here is the bread. Do pair work in a PK game: Practice: grapes, grapes, do you like grapes? Purpose: Proper games can arouse Ss’

interest in English learning and can overcome their shyness and stimulate them to speak English in public.

Step 4. Extension. (10 minutes) 1.

Do surveys in groups and then finish their worksheet. Using the target sentences: Do you like…? Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. Guide them talk in the following context: A: Do you like ________? B: Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.

Purpose: Encourage Ss to integrate the old knowledge into the new context. 2.

Invite some groups to report their survey to the whole class. Purpose: Task-based teaching method and communicative teaching method are used here. Ss’

ability of communication and cooperation will be trained, too.

Step 5. Sum up and moral education. ( 3 minutes)

Sum up the new words and expressions through the layout. Encourage Ss to develop healthy eating habits. Purpose: It is very important to sum up and do a brief moral education in the end of the class. That can help Ss consolidate the knowledge they’ve learned in this class.

Step 6. Homework. (2 minutes) 1.

Do a survey in your family.

Draw some pictures about the new words in this class. Purpose: Revision is necessary after class. Ss should do more extensive exercise.

Anyway, the teaching of this lesson aims to develop not only the Ss’

language technical abilities, but also the diverse intelligence by integrated teaching methods. In

this class, I designed a lot of pictures, videos and activities to make a loose and harmonious learning atmosphere for Ss. I found that were quite attractive to them. I was satisfied with the part of extension, because every student participated in the survey. Most of the Ss can use the key words and structures in real situations. In order to realize the new curriculum standard, I think I need to do more research on the context and learn more from others. So much for my presentation, thank you for your guiding!
