This lesson is taken from lesson O of English This Way Book 2. It's the first period for sentences teaching.

Teaching aims 1. Knowledge aims: a. To enable the pupils to express whether they are able to do something by learning the below sentence patterns: --- Can you…? --- Yes, I can. / No, I can’t. 2.

Ability aims:

a. To improve the pupils' abilities of listening, speaking and reading

b. To enable the pupils to use the target language to communicate with others in their daily life. 3.

Moral aims: a.

To inspire the pupils’ interest in learning English.

Through group works and games, cultivating the pupils' consciousness of cooperation. Ⅲ

For English, the pupils of Grade 3 are just at the primary perceptual level. However they are good at imitating and are curious about new things. According to the actual situations of my students, the creation of situational method and communicative method will be applied.
