1A Module 1 Using my five senses Unit 3 Taste and smell
将某些食物、水果带入课堂,让学生体验Smell和Touch这两个动作,提高他们的参与兴趣,能够学会用这两种句型给他人指令。
单元目标:
知识目标:将某些食物、水果带入课堂,让学生体验Smell和Touch这两个动作,提高他们的参与兴趣,能够学会用这两种句型给他人指令。通过语段文字、语段音频、猜图等方式向学生灌输taste/smell。
句型表达what food do you like? I like...及就餐用语表达,如Can I help you?等
技能目标:进一步培养小组合作、展示能力;进一步培养倾听能力,包括对音频资料的倾听和同学在台上展示时“文明小观众”的倾听能力;初步接受语段输入,培养语言输出能力。
情感目标:让学生在轻松、愉悦的氛围中进行学习,爱学英语;通过对日常食物的学习,让学生能在生活中运用英语表达喜好。将某些食物、水果带入课堂,让学生体验Smell和Touch这两个动作,提高他们的参与兴趣,能够学会用这两种句型给他人指令。
Pre-task preparation
Activity 1 Give commands to the students and have them do the actions with you. E.g. -Touch your nose.
-( Touch their noses.) Activity 2 Have the students listen to the rhyme on Student’s Book on page 13 while you do the corresponding actions.
While-task procedure Activity 1
Ask the students to listen to and repeat after the rhyme on Student’s Book page 13 E.g. —Smell the rice.
Smell the egg. —Egg and rice.
Nice, nice, nice. Activity 2 Have the students do Part A ‘Listen and number’ on Workbook page 11. Then have them check it in pairs. Activity 3
Have the students do Part B ‘Listen and judge’ on Workbook page 11. Then have them check it in pairs. Activity 4
Have the students in pairs take turns giving commands and doing the actions. E.g. —Touch your nose. —(Touch his/her nose) It’s my nose.
Post-task activities Activity 1 Have the students practice in pairs to make their own rhyme like the one on Student’s Book page
13. Then have them say the thyme while they do the actions.
Activity 2 Ask the students to practice in groups and play the game in Part C ‘Listen and play’ on workbook page 12.
Activity 3
Ask the students to do Task ‘Do and say’ on Workbook page 13. then have them act it out. E.g. —
The soup is nice. —
The fish is yummy. Pre-task preparation
Activity 1 Show a photo or a video about dinner and introduce the names of the food to the students. E.g. T: Can you see fish. This is noodles. Activity 2 Show the students the picture for Student’s Book page 10.
Have the students listen to the recording. Then ask the more able students to act according to your instructions. E.g. T: Taste the noodles.
Smell the soup. While-task procedure Activity 1
Ask the students to listen and repeat after ‘Look and say’
on Student’s Book page 10. Have the students practice the dialogue with you in the following manner, Boys should act a s Tom and girls should act as Alice. E.g. —Taste the noodles, Tom.
—Yummy, yummy.
—Smell the soup, Alice.
—It’s nice. Activity 2
Have the students listen to play the recording. Ask then questions to elicit the general idea of the story on Student’s Book page 11. Then let them repeat after the recording. E.g. —What is Alice tasting?Noodles or soup?
—Soup. Activity 3
Present the students the paper cut-outs of food items. Give commands and have the students do the corresponding actions. E.g. -Smell the fish. -(Takes the paper cut-out of fish and smells) The students can play this game in groups.
Activity 4 Have the students act out the dialogue on Student’s Book page 11 in pairs. Post-task activities Activity 1 Bring some food and drinks to the class. Have the students close their eyes and guess the names of
the items by smelling and tasting them in groups.
Activity 2 Ask the students to work in groups of four and make new dialogues like the one on Student’s Book page 10. They should then act their dialogues out.
Activity 3
Create a restaurant scene. Give each student a mean which includes pictures and words for food items, such as rice, soup, egg and noodles. Have the students make a short dialogue in pairs like the following. Then have them change roles.
—Hum… Nice, nice. Note: In post-task Activity 2, you can also provide the students with some food and drinks.
