Teaching process: Step 1 Warming up 1.

Greetings:

Today we are going to learn Unit 8 Weekend Fun. What is weekend? Show a month using a calendar. Have the Ss guess what weekend means. (Weekend means on Sunday and Saturday)

Sing a song:

On the weekend , we usually have fun. Let’s listen to a song: What

do you want to do? 3.

Ask and say something about the song.

Do you want to … on the weekend? (ride a bike; fly a kite; climb a tree; watch TV; go shopping; sing; do karate; take a bath; eat sushi; fish; study math; speak English;) Step 2 Pre-story 1.

Ask and say:

What about Jenny? What does she want to do on the weekend.

Look at the picture. Talk and say about the pictures and lead to the story. What’s the weather like? How is Jenny? 2. Listen to the story

Enjoy the story and try to get the information :

What does Jenny want to do?

She wants to make a snowman. 3. Introduce the body parts of the snowman. Step 3 While-story 1.

Watch the story and let’s match according to the story.

After watching the story, have Ss know who makes the body/head/arm/wings of the snowman. 2.

Learn more about the story and talk about the story.

Have Ss observe the picture carefully. Have Ss to express what they see and what they think according to the pictures.

Step 4 Post-story

1. Try to retell the story. Retell the story according to the key words and the story pictures on PPT. 2.Read the story.

Take out the Ss books and turn to Page 56, read the story. Pay attention to the tone and intonation and with emotions. 3.

Act out the story

Act out the story in groups. And have two or three groups to show before the class. 4.

Discussion:

Discuss in groups. Discuss in these three questions. Do you like snow? What do you like to do when it snows? What do you want to do with the snow? 5. Enjoy a fun video. Pepper Pig；
