Unit 2 These are your eyes.
Teaching Objectives: 1. Being able to recognize and express body parts.
2. Being able to use: What are these? These are... 3. Being able to understand, speak and use the new words. 4. Being able to feel the rhyme of the chant. 5.
Being able to use the new structures to introduce body parts in our life.
6. Being able to feel the difference of singular and plural forms.
Teaching Importance: 1.
Students can master the new words: these, leg, hand, feet, baby. 2. Students can use the sentence expressions: What are these? These are... 3.
Being able to use the new structures to introduce body parts in our life.
Teaching Difficulties: 1.
Being able to recognize and use "this is" and "these are". 2. Arousing the students’ desire to learn and to explore on their own.
Teaching Preparations: PPT Pictures Tape and record
Teaching Procedures: 1. Warm up and greetings (1) Song: Head, shoulders knees and toes. (2) Revision: Teacher shows a picture of a human's body, and points to any body parts to let students say the word. 2. Lead in Teacher shows a picture of a dog's body, a cat's body, at last show a spider's body. Teacher can ask Ss some questions. T: Are they the same? How many legs does the spider have? How many feet does the spider have? Does the spider have hands? (Drill: spider) T: Look, the cat Mimi is looking at a spider’s body. What is Mimi talking about? (1) Listen to the tape for the first time and let Ss answer the question.
(2) Watch the video, Ss read and imitate the pronunciation and the tone. 3. Presentation (1) T: The Mother spider and her baby are talking about their eyes. (Drill: baby) Let's listen what they are saying. T: How many eyes does the spider have? (2) Watch the video and answer the question. T: The baby spider doesn't know his body. How does he ask his mother? (Drill: Mother, what are these? These are your eyes.) (3) Listen, read and imitate. (Teacher may encourage Ss to imitate the pronunciation and act with actions and emotions.) 4. Practice (1) Teacher shows the pictures of the text on the slides, Ss read after the teacher for the first time. And then Ss read together by themselves. (2) Role play. Teacher plays the role of the mother spider, Ss play the role of the baby spider. (3) Girls plays the role of the mother spider, boys play the role of the baby spider. (4) Teacher choose students randomly, for example, 4 students play the role of the mother spider, 6 students play the role of the baby sister. 5. Production Ss work in pairs, one is the mother spider, the other is the baby spider. Ss prepare for 3 minutes and then perform in the front of the class. (Teacher can demonstrate with an able student first.) 6. Extension (1) Introduce our body to the baby spider. (Activity 3, page 24) T: What are these? Ss: These are eyes/ears/hands/legs/feet. T: What’s this? Ss: This is a head/a face/a nose/a mouth.
(2) Make up a dialogue in a given situation. T: Boys and girls, the baby spider asks his mother for the body. And the baby dog and the baby elephant are going to ask their mothers for their bodies. Let’s do a role play.

And Ss show their dialogues. 7. Summary T: Today we’ve talked about the body. And we’ve known the spider’s body, our body, the dog and the elephant’s body. The nature is so amazing, we should make a careful observation of our life. 8. Board Writing
9. Homework 1. Read the text fluently. 2. Sing the song "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" to your parents. 3. Introduce the elephant and the dog’s body to your partners.
