Unit13 Communication Workshop

Teaching Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, students should be able to: 1. use some strategies to talk with others; 2. describe and guess people in the photos orally. Teaching Procedures Step1:

Lead-in Introduce and explain the speaking strategies to students. Step2:

Listening A. Students look at the photos on page16, and complete the function file with the words from the list. B. Students listen to the cassette and check their answers. Step3: Speaking

A. Preparation 1. Ask students to brainstorm the words of describing people’s appearance and personalities. 2. Show students some pictures and ask students to describe the people with the words they have brainstormed. B. Oral practice 1. Give students several minutes to discuss the people and situation in the photo in pairs.

2. After discussion in pairs, ask them to exchanges their opinions in groups. 3. Invite several pairs to make a presentation to the class. Step3

Assignment

Write a short passage describing the photo on page17, and preview next part in communication workshop.
