Unit3 Look at my nose. Lesson16 Teaching Aims:

Knowledge and Ability: 1. Be able to understand and say the words (arm/neck/hand).

2. Be able to use the sentences correctly. (How are you? → Not very well. →Oh, I’m sorry.)

Process and Method: To improve students' ability to apply knowledge of English. Moral: 1.To make the students express their true feelings. 2. To understand the discomfort of others. Main Points: words (arm/neck/hand); sentences: How are you? →Not very well. →Oh, I’m sorry.)

Difficult Points: Be able to master the knowledge and use in a life-like language situation. Teaching Tools: CD-Rom、Word-cards、

headwear、Medical binder. Teaching Procedures Step1. Warm-up/Revision 1. Greeting 2. T: Let’s sing a song

“Hello! How are you?”.

The teacher and students performance together. 3. TPR activities(To review and elicit new words) T: Please listen, touch and say,OK?

T: Touch your nose/eyes/face/mouth/head/ear.

Ss listen, touch and say “Look at my nose/eyes/face/ mouth/head/ear.”

T: Now,

T: Nod your head. Open your mouth. Close your eyes.

Teacher and students say the order and do it together. Step2. Presentation 1. New words 1). T shows Word-cards,and point neck, arm and hand,

Let Ss point neck/arm/hand and say the words: neck/arm/hand.

T: These are the new words we will learn today.

T sticks the CARDS on the blackboard.

2). Practice the new words with CD-Rom. 3). Teacher do actions,let the students understand the verbs (clap, wave). After students understand,listen to the order and do action. (Touch your neck. Clap your hands. Wave your arm.)

Background Information

T: Now let’s watch a flash. It’s in the morning. It’s time to go to school.

Peter and Yang Ming meet at the school gate. They are talking. Let’s listen.

2).Questions What are they talking? What’s wrong with Peter?

3). Ss watch the flash and listen to the recording. 4).Answer S1:How are you? →Not very well.→ Oh, I’m sorry.

S2:Peter的胳膊受伤了。

5). Explain T: a.当听到How are you?这个问句时,我们应该根据实际情况来回答,如果身体很好就说Fine, thank you.或者是Good! And you? 如果身体情况不好,可以说Not very well. (板书句子) b. 在英语中,当听到他人身体不好之类的坏消息时,我们应该用I’m sorry.这个句型来表达自己的难过和同情之情。这也是中西方文化之间的差异。
