I. The analysis of teaching materials: This part is talking about “family members and jobs”, which based on the students have learned in Grade 3. Students are interested in this topic, because it’s related with their daily life.

II. The analysis of students: The students in Grade 4 have learned English one year. They’re still interested in English learning. We should keep on stimulating their interests of learning English. To improve their English, we must use all kinds of activities, such as sing English songs, play games, chant, role play. III. Teaching aims:

By the end of the lesson 1. Students will be able to understand the story; 2. Students will be able to read, role play the story;

3. Students will be able to talk about their family members’ jobs.

Step 2: Presentation 1.Picture 1&2: Meet Zip’s family. Teach the words: these, photo 2.Picture 3-5: Guess “What’s Zip’s father’s job?”

“What’s Zip’s grandpa’s job?”

3.Picture 6: Teach the word: baseball player. Watch the video about baseball match. Read the sentence with Zip’s feeling : Haha! It’s me! 4. Think and discuss. Why does Zip act like a baseball player?

5. Watch the cartoons of the whole story.
