Unit 3 The interesting world of plants 一、教材分析

本篇文章选自上海牛津版S1B第三单元的The Interesting World of Plants，是一篇说明文，主要向同学们介绍了四种有趣的植物。前两段介绍了睡莲与荷花，都是开花类植物；后两段主要介绍了榕树和银杏树。文章的脉络清晰，同学不仅可以学到有关四种植物的基本信息，还能够了解到植物给人类带来的趣味性，从而引导学生了解植物对人类的益处和重要性，进而让学生懂得保护地球上的植被，文明赏花，意识到人与自然和谐相处的意义。

从语言上看，文章比较简单，仅出现了少量的生词，如relative, enormous, separate以及少量的植物名称, 但不对文章整体的理解构成障碍，文章少数描写植物生长的细节可能给学生增加了阅读的困难。

二、学情分析

本节课的授课对象是立达高一年级的学生，班级学生基础属于中等偏下，但是高一入学以来对英语的学***兴趣，尤其是对本单元的植物有着较大兴趣，所以本堂课采用了关于美丽植物视频作为导入，抓住学生的好奇心，让他们有想学的欲望。为了让学生能够深刻理解本篇文章，采用了高一教授的阅读方法，包括skimming, scanning等阅读技巧。学生对此类的阅读技巧比较熟练，但是自己总结概括能力较差，所以学习四种植物后让学生自己总结每种植物的特点所在，以此提高他们提炼信息的能力。在结束文章学习后让他们进行小组讨论，主题是植物给我们带来的好处，给学生创造讨论的环境，让学生们敢于表达自己的观点。

三、教学整体设计思路

I. Pre-reading: 1. 播放一个视频，并通过对话将学生带入本单元相关的话题plants。

2. 让学生好奇这四种植物的特点是什么。

II. While-reading:

1. 让学生运用skimming的阅读技巧简单了解四种植物。

2. 让学生用scanning的阅读技巧深入了解四种植物。

3. 用detailed reading的方法获取每种植物的细节信息。

4. 用竞赛的形式复习有关四种植物的相关知识。

III. Post-reading:

1. 通过让学生自己总结每种植物的特点锻炼学生的总结能力。

2. 通过展示一些破坏植物的行为，引起同学们保护植物的共鸣，从而达到让同学门爱护植物，爱护花草树木的情感目标。
