Unit3 food Fun Time Good afternoon,ladies and gentlemen. I’m glad to stand here to introduce my lesson. Today, I choose a very brand-new part of this book to share,it is the Fun Time of Unit 3 Food. I will talk about the lesson in 5 aspects. They are materials and students,aims,focal points and theory support,methods and strategies and procedures and conclusion. First, let’s see the material. It’s our new book and this unit food is very close to students’ life. They can understand the words and sentences easily. So I think we can make some improvements in this unit. So I choose an unusual part--Fun Time. It’s a second level lesson for those who has done a good job or interested. But,in my opinion,we can skip it or we can also make it fun. It can stimulate students to use English and know more about the culture. In this lesson, it has 3 parts. Good to know, let’s make and let’s sing.
When we come to this lesson, students have already known words about food and know how to ask and answer what do you want for dinner? So I want to let them know how to describe things in logical order and learn to make a simple food. My teaching aims are to let them think in logical order,to understand and use the sentences,to say and idetify the phrases and finally to express
their thanks to their parents. The focal points are to understand the recipes and to talk about one’s preference and to make a sandwich. The theory support of my lesson is our group research report. Let our life grows in experience. I think students should touch the world by themselves instead of book. We should give them a context and encourage them to use the language. For teaching methods,they are TPR and task-based language teaching and for learning strategies, they are experiencing,discussing,group cooperation. Now let’s talk about the teaching procedures,they are very classical five steps teaching. Step one, i use a bomb game to warm-up and to review. Step two, I will show them a short video about how I make a sandwich to set a context for them and to prepare for the language. Step three presentation, to fulfill our teaching aim. I give them a activity to listen and match and read and check. Step four consolidation, the purpose is to understand and use the sentences, there are group works, they will look at the blackboard and retell the steps. And in order to say and identify the phrases. We do TPR activities. I do you say to perform and to say.
Step five,we have a group discussion: what do you want in your sandwich to use the words and do complete the sentence. At last,we do a research to develop and to assess,to see what do their parents want for their sandwich and make a comparison. For homework,there are also two levels,level one,listen and repeat,sing the song,level two make a sandwich for your parents. In conclusion, i think students should learn the knowledge,develop thinking ability and finally touch the world. That’s all. Thank you for listening.
