二、学生情况分析

本单元的主题为Around my home,主要学习内容为supermarket, restaurant等公共场所类词汇,between, next to等方位介词,there be句型的一般疑问句及其肯定、否定回答,以及特殊疑问句Where is ...? 通过之前的学习,学生已接触过部分核心词汇,学习了如何在公共场所进行购物、点餐,如何用there be句型来描述哪里有什么。根据学生现有的生活经验,他们对自己住处附近的公共场所也有所了解。

鉴于学生的学习情况,我确定了本单元的主题为“Around my home”,三个课时的话题分别为“Around Jill’s home”,“At the street corner”和“Around my home”。在第一课时,我将Look and learn部分内容和Learn the sounds、Look and say板块进行整合,要求学生能介绍一下Jill家附近的部分公共场所;在第二课时,我以第一课时为基础,将Look and learn部分内容和Say and act板块进行整合,要求学生能说一说Jill能在家附近哪些地方买到什么;第三课时是在前两课时的基础上整合Draw and say、Listen and enjoy板块,让学生介绍一下自己家附近的公共场所。

Period 1 Around Jill’s home (Jill is new here. She doesn’t know about her new neighbourhood. Her home is near Alice’s home. So she asks Alice about their neighbourhood.) Jill: Hello, I’m Jill. I live on Garden Street. This is my home. It's near Alice's home. Now we are talking about the nice places around my home.

Jill: Are there many nice places around my home? Alice: Yes, there are. Look! There is a supermarket. Jill: How is the supermarket? Alice: It's big and nice. Jill: What can we buy there? Alice: We can buy many kinds of things. We can buy food, drinks, toys and so on.

Jill: How wonderful!

Jill: I want to send letters to my friends. Is there a post office near my home? Alice: There is a post office near your home. It is small but great. There are many postmen in the post office. We can send letters and postcards there. Jill: How cool!

Jill: I am hungry now. Is there a snack bar near my home?

Alice: No, there isn't. But there is a restaurant. Jill: How's the restaurant? What food can we eat? Alice: It is clean and nice. There are a lot of yummy food in it. We can eat fish, chicken and salad. Jill: How great! Oh, it's time for dinner. Let's go home!

Period 2 At the street corner (Next Sunday is Jill’s birthday. Jill wants to invite some friends to her home. She wants to prepare for the party. Now she needs some help.) Jill: Hi, Alice. Next Sunday is my birthday. I want to have a birthday party. I need to buy some bread and a birthday cake for my party. Is there a bakery here?

Alice: Yes, there is. It’s on Park Street. It’s next to the restaurant.

Jill: Oh, I see. Then I can buy some bread and a cake there.

Jill: On that day, we can read some books. I want to buy some comic books. Are there any bookshops near our home? Alice: Yes, there is one. You can buy comic books there.

Jill: OK. Where is it? Alice: Let me see. It’s on Rainbow Road. It’s next to the post office.

Jill: I can go there to buy some comic books. We can have a nice time in my home. How happy!

Alice: What else do you need to do, Jill? Jill: I need to buy a new dress. Is there a clothes shop near our home? Alice: Yes, there is. It’s on Rainbow Road too. It’s next to the bookshop. Jill: There is a bookshop next to the post office. And the book shop is next to the clothes shop. So the bookshop is between the post office and the clothes shop. Oh, it is really a busy road. That’s great. I am ready for the party! How happy!

Hello, I’m Jill. I live on Garden Street. It’s a busy street in our city. There are many nice places near my home. There is a supermarket near my home. It’s big and nice. There are many kinds of things in it. I like shopping there. There is a restaurant near the supermarket. It’s clean and nice. We can eat a lot of yummy food in it.

There is a bakery next to the restaurant. We can buy bread, cakes and biscuits there. We can also buy some juice there. There is a post office next to the bookshop. It’s small but great. We can send letters and postcards there.

There is a bookshop between the post office and the clothes shop. There are many kinds of books in it.

I’m very happy because it is very convenient here.
