课时分析：

通过前两个课时的学习，学生学习了解了西方节日的基本内容，含日期、活动内容、标志性物品和相关故事。复习巩固了诸如月份、序数词、动词短语等语言知识，拓展了搜索故事、整编故事的语言能力，学生能够较为熟练地用英语表达有关节日的内容。本课时着眼从西方节日转向国际性节日认识上来，通过课本教学中的Make and say部分，提炼制作decoration的基本要素，运用到本节课主题“制作中国春节的饰物的”上来，利用英语的国际性功能介绍本国的传统节日，从而增强民族自信心，培养国际视野。

教学目标

1.能够即时朗读并读懂Make and say的内容。

2.能够理解并学习提炼“制作”并写出、介绍“制作过程”。

3.树立跨学科观念，提升手工制作技能，学习信息化辅助学习的手段。

4.学会多种方式介绍一个传统节日并表达节日带来的情感。

教学过程

I. Warming up: Prepare four videos about four different western festivals for four students. Ask them to send out to the class. T: I asked you to download videos about western festivals yesterday. Have you done that? Who would like to share your video? S: I’d like to.

T: OK. Please send your videos to us. Task1: 1. Watch four videos, choose questions and answer. Set A, B, C, D for the questions. Q1: What’s the name of the festival on the second video?

Q2: What do people usually do at the festival on the first video? Q3: When’s the festival on the fourth video?

Q4: What decorations do you like best about the festivals on the videos? Why? Q5: Can you make a jack-o’ lantern?

II. Showing new: Play the flash about “Let’s make”

Task2: Q1: How many steps to make a jack-o’ lantern?

Learn and say. Q2: Do you know the meaning of an orange at Chinese festivals? How about an apple? What else can you tell us? Orange: good luck; Apple: safety; Fish: richer and richer; Bamboo: better and better…

Study how to write the steps of making a decoration. Sum up. T: What should we do before we make a decoration? (Lead them to say and write)

III. Prepare a party for Spring Festival: More and more western countries like Chinese festivals. The western people also give good wishes to Chinese people all over the world. Play a video about the leaders greeting to Chinese people at Spring festivals.

(I) make some decorations in groups 1.Prepare five bags of tools for each group: paper cutting, lantern making, firecracker making, spring couplets (doorways are often decorated with them which are festive red banners that bear wishes for the New Year), red pocket, cooking (jiaozi, fish, chicken…)

Ask the group leader to make the task sure: one or two write the making steps, one takes photos to each step, the others make the decoration [tips] What and how to write: Steps you make Tools you need 1. Take out a piece of paper…

2. Four students go and record the works of all groups. They should say something while they are recording.

(II) Send the decorations with the introductions and introduce them

Teach them how to read the introductions. They can read one by one. Or one of them does that.

(III) Act Stick spring couplets and paper cuttings, hang lanterns, eat dinner, watch TV programs, play fireworks and firecrackers, greet to each other, get lucky money
