This period is from Oxford English, Book5B, which is Unit 1 of Module 3. This period is the third lesson of this unit. We have learned colours in Gread Three and Gread Four. This class the main idea of the period is that review the colours and continue learning describe the changes in our daily life using the present tense and the past tense.

Step 1 warm-up and review

1. Greeting.

2. Warming-up

T：Let’s have a chant:

T：One, two, three, please stand up.

S:

One, two, three, I stand up.

T：One, two, three, please sit down.

T：Great, great, who’s great?

Great, great, I’m great.

3. Review the words about colour. T: Just now boys and girls did a good job. So now Let’s play a game: have a guess. Please guess a name of a kind of an animal. It has a white body, black legs, black arms and black ears, what’s it?

Step 2 Presentation 1. T: Our daily life is colorful, there are so many beautiful things with

colourful coats. Can you tell us some beautiful things with beautiful coats in you eyes?

T: Now Miss Hu will show you some beautiful things. Let’s share them together. (Then show some pictures of a banana, bananas...a bird and birds. Lead students to say out the sentences: The ...is/are....) 2. T: Just now, we know a bird, it’s white. And it is very clever. Last class we also know a bird. Do you still remember? It’s very naughty. “It was in the cage. Now it’s in the tree."(Then emphasize the usage of “was” and

“were”.)

T: “Is” has its own pattern of past "was". What about “are”? ...

T: So we can say: “The...were....Now they’re ....”

教学活动3 Step 3 Practice and extension T：Now we have learnt how to describe the changes in our daily life. Let’s describe some changes in the nature, and play a game: Brave Climber. I will divide our class into three groups: Group Red, Group Blue, and Group Yellow. If you say the sentences correctly, your group will climb over one mountain more. (Encourage students to say the sentences bravely.)
