Lesson 1

Instructional Design

Teaching content: 《重大版小学英语》四年级上Unit 5 Lesson1(第一课时)

Instructional objective: Language skills:

1)

students can pronounce the words correctly and learn to know the meaning of the vocabularies by situations, teacher’s

explaining and guessing though the context:

zoo,,tiger,giraffe,elephant,lion, etc.

2)

students can talk about the animals with the sentence structure: What are these /those ? They are.... 3)

students can read the dialogue with partners. Educational objectives: students should be able to remember to be friendly with animals and try to protect them. Cultural awareness: students should be able to identify different animals from various countries. Personal objectives: Teacher tries to be more passionate and create an active atmosphere for classes.

Key and difficulty points:

1) Students can pronounce “giraffe “and” these/those” correctly. 2) Students can distinguish the meaning of “these” from “those”. 3) Students can communicate with each others by the new sentence patterns. Teaching materials: Word cards, Pictures, PPT Teaching duration: 40min Teaching procedure:

情景引入,自学单词(zoo): 教师在白板展示动物园,并让学生猜测今天要去的地方。利用旧知引新知的学习方法让学生自学单词zoo. T: Let’s look. Wow!where is it? There are so many animals. What’s

this? Ss: 动物园

T:Can you say in English? Now, let’s look! So can you read this word?

Zero +too =zoo 。Have one students read the word, then listen

and check.

【设计意图】:用自然拼读法,通过用旧知引新知的方法让学生自学单词可以锻炼学生的知识迁移能力,让学生在英语学习上获得成就感。

one bear and bears, monkeys, pandas, and lead in these are T & Ss: This is a bear. T: These are bears.(show the key sentences on the blackboard). Then let students introduce monkeys using “these

are…..”and show pandas and ask ; T: What are these?(show the sentences on the blackboard)

S: They are pandas. T: What do pandas look like ?(show the sentence

and teach them to read. Then choose some students to read) Then describe pandas by students as much as possible. Pictures can help them. 3.Listen and

say. Watch a vedio and answer: A:What are they talking about?

B: What do pandas look like?

设计意图:我让学生观看课文的对话视频,思考问题:What are they talking about?基于学生有谈论动物外形特征的语言基础, what do pandas look like?这一开放性问题是一个头脑风暴,旨在打开学生思路,启动学生的思维,同时为他们提供语用交流的机会,也为后面的学习奠定基础。在指导学生学习单词的同时,代入句型What are these? They are...,做到词不离句。每学习一个新单词就通过图片进行单复数对比,让学生形成区别单复数的意。 4.Show some parts of pictures

of lions ,elephants, tigers and giraffes or their sound and let students guess what are these/those?出示单词,学习单词:在白板上出示本节课将要学习的动物,再露出动物的一部分,利用白板功能让学生寻找动物并进行单词的学习。学生先听录音,然后读单词最后教师纠正发音。在教单词时,继续遵循自然拼读教学原则(在教学时为了引起学生的兴趣可以在拼读时加上动作,利用声音和动作引起学生的注意。在拼读时注意纠正学生的发音。)

Ss: They are elephants.(listen and read elephant one by one) but now, what are these?(课件从一只大象立刻变成两只大象) Ss:(They are) elephants. T: Very good! Look carefully, what do elephants look like? Ss:( They have) long nose.

They have big ears.

They have small eyes…

T:Great! Can you make the sound( or do the action) like the elephant? Ss: Yes!...(师生一起模仿大象的身体特征或声音) tiger:put the sign 王on the head and make a sound of tiger。Students guess T: What are these?

Ss: They are tigers.( Listen and learn

tiger TA- GLs-GMs) giraffe: show the long neck and four long legs of giraffe, Ask

T: What are these?

Ss: They are giraffes.(listen and learn words by TA- GLs-GMs) T: What do giraffes look like? Ss: They have……. 【设计意图】:该年龄段的学生对新事物充满了好奇,. 利用猜测的方式进行教学既能引起学生的兴趣又能提高学习效率。

1.read the words in gruops. 2. send them home.活动:送动物回家。

在黑板上画两个房子,离自己近的画大一些,离自己远的画小一些,师示范,如:将

these are pandas的熊猫图片送回大房子里面,将those are tigers的老虎图片送回小房子里面。然后让孩子们在小组内练习。

3.两人小组创编chant ,并抽小组展示汇报。

如:tiger, tiger, this is a tiger! Tigers, tigers, these are tigers!

Lion, lion. That is a lion!

Lions, lions, those are lions!:通过chant的创编和表演,【设计意图】:此环节既能巩固新学句型和单词还能培养学生的语用能力,加入歌曲伴奏能够让chant更有节奏。训练孩子们的思维创新能力,并进一步的巩固单词的单复数,以及对these与those的区别。
