Teaching Aims:
1.Knowledge aim: 1)Learn the new words:trousers shorts sock shoe and orange; 2)Learn to say ‘What colour are …? They’re…’

1)Understand the usage of plural forms;
2)Make simple dialogues about colours. 3.Emotion aim: 1)Express likes or dislikes about colours. 2)Educate the Ss to creat a more colourful world . Important and difficult teaching point:
Understand the differences between ‘What colour is…
’and ‘What colour are…’
Teaching Aids:
cards
pictures and a turntable Teaching Steps:
Step 1.Revision.
1.Greetings between T & Ss.
2.Divide the Ss into Half A & Half B. 3.Review colours. Learn the word ‘orange’.
Step 2. Presentation. 1.
Draw a coat and ask:‘what colour is the coat?’Let the Ss answer:‘It’s blue.’

Draw two coats and ask:‘what colour are the coats?’Let the Ss answer:‘They’re blue.’
3.
Stress the differences between ‘is & are , It’s… & They’re…’
4.
Ask and answer between T & Ss. 5.
Ask and answer in pairs. 6.
Ask and answer together.
Step 3. Learn and drill. 1.
Show pictures of sock and socks. Teach ‘sock ’. Let the Ss make sentences in Step 2.

Use the same way to teach ‘trousers/shorts/shoes. Let’s the Ss say the key sentence pattern. 3.
Ask and answer in halves.. 4.
Books open to page 9 . Read ‘Let’s learn.’ together.
Step 4.Practise. 1.Show the Ss a turntable. Demonstrate with a student: T: What colour is the sock?
S: It’s orange. T: What colour are the socks? S: They’re orange. 2.Practise in pairs. 3.Ask the Ss to play the game in the front.
Step 5.Consolidation. 1.Show a red book. Lead to the song ‘what colour’ in this lesson. 2.Listen to the song. 3.Learn to sing. 4.Sing the song together. 5.Sing the song with other clothes words.
Step 6. Extention. 1.Free talk about the colours of toys / stationaries / classroom objects. 2.Practise in groups of four. 3.Let the Ss to show their dialogues.
Step 7. Summary and Homework. 1.Summary of this lesson 2.Brife conclusion of the assessment.
3.Homework: Make a shopping card after class.
