Unit 2 A new student 第一课时

Period 1;

Story Time Teaching aims:

1. Words(4 skills): classroom, computer room, library, music room,

table tennis room (3 skills): first, second, third, floor, show…around

2. Sentences(3 skills):Can you show her around? How many…are there …?

There is/are …

Is there a …? Yes, there is./ No. there isn’t. Are there any…? Yes, there are. /No, there aren’t.

Let’s go and have a look.

3. Text: Ss can understand and read Story time, then try to act the dialogue. Teaching aids:

磁带、录音机、PPT、卡片、图片等。

Teaching procedure: Step1. Free talk:

1. Day, Date, Weather How are you? / How are you this morning? Step2. Presentation and practice:

T: Where are we now? Ss: In the classroom/At school T: What’s in the classroom?

Ss: There is/are …

T: We have classes in the classroom. (新授classroom) We have English lessons in the classroom. What about Music lessons? Ss: We have … lessons in the music room.

T: What about Art/PE/Computer lessons? (Show the picture of the music/ art/computer room/playground one by one..) T: After class, we can read books in the library. T: (PPT Show Pic 1.) Look, who are they? Ss: Yang Ling, Miss Li and Nancy Black.

T: Nancy is a new student. It’s the first day for her at school.

What happened then? Let’s watch the cartoon.

Before watching it, I have a Q for you. What rooms can they see? (PPT play Story time.) Ss: They can see the classroom, music room ….

T: Good, they can see so many rooms in the school.

Now let’s see Pic one by one.

Pic 1: T: What does Miss Li say? Listen to the tape.

Ss Read after the tape.
