Ⅲ. Careful reading Ss read the passage carefully and finish the following tasks: 1.

Read paragraph 1, and answer the question:

When and where did the idea for Harry Potter come to J.K. Rowling? 2.

Read paragraphs 2—4, and answer three questions:

1) What difficulties are mentioned in Para.2?

2) What is Rowling＇s attitude to difficulties?

3) What should we do when we meet difficulties?

3. Read paragraph 5—6, and check the students’understanding of this part through a T/F test.

Step IV.Sum up Allow students enough time to conclude what they have learned and fill in the blanks.

Check the answers.

Step V.Consolidation Give Ss some information about another three books and their writers. Ss choose one book and write a passage about the writer and the book.

Step VI.Homework 1. Review new words and phrases on Page 22~23.

2.Surf the internet and find more information about JK. Rowling and Harry Potter.
