The text is taken from the writing part of Book6 Module3. This module mainly introduces the interpersonal relationships--friendship. The students can further understand the importance of friendship and cultivate the spirits of optimistic friendship through learning. Also, students can learn how to organize a passage and how to support the topic sentence. II.Analysis of students The students of class two have basically learned vocabulary related to friendship in this module. With the familiar topic, they are deeply attracted to the lesson. And they need to develop the writing skills in terms of organization, words, structure and clauses.

Before-writing 1.

The teacher asks: Suppose you are going to introduce your friends, what you should be clear about? Students answer: Type, Person and Tense Purpose: Be prepared for writing 2.

Ask the students the questions: How to organize the passage? We usually divide the passage into three paragraphs, and what will we write in each part? Students answer: the first is introduction and the last is conclusion, while the most important part is the body, in which we’d better write a topic sentence and then give examples to support the topic. Purpose: Make sure they know how to organize the passage. Step3

Learn how to write 1.Teach the students to use accurate words to describe person’s character

by listing these Chinese meanings on the learning plan: 严格的;谦虚的;考虑周到的;乐观的;悲观的;热情的;心不在焉的;脾气不好的;举止得体的;有天赋的;热心肠的;随和的;精力充沛的；慷慨的；聪明的；雄心的；有吸引力的；宽恕的；可信赖的；诚实的幽默的；勤奋的；独立的；谨慎的；健康的；耐心的；善良的

During the lesson, I ask the students to speak out the English words and if they are right they can get points, which is a good way to help them have a strong desire to recite words and contributes to a competitive atmosphere.

2.Teach the students to use with structure to describe person’s appearance:

1) 李忠英是个近视的男生,他戴着一副眼镜。

Li Zhongying is a near-sighted boy________________________________.

2) 贾诗雨很漂亮，有着长长的头发。

Jia Shiyu is good-looking ___________________. 2) 张书铭高高瘦瘦, 浓浓的眉毛,看上去挺帅的。

3Teach the students to use varied clauses: I give one topic sentence and ask students to write down supporting sentences, which is beneficial to their writing. The examples I used are the students of this class, which attracts the attention of students and contributes to good learning effects. A.Time Adverbial Clause used to support the character:

Li Hongyu is humorous and forgiving. 1)他的故事和笑话都会使大家哈哈大笑，尤其当同学们情绪低落时。

After learning some words to describe person’s character, I think with structure is very useful to describe person’s appearance. Also, I ask students to use varied clauses, which I think is a good way to improve students’ writing abilities gradually.

Step 4 Writing: I ask the students to Introduce a friend in this class without mentioning the name and also try to use accurate words, with structure, varied clauses, doing and inversion in 10minutes. Also, pay attention to handwriting.

Step 5 Showing I ask the students to share their writing in groups and try to choose the best one. I used my phone to take photos and then the function of Airplay can help me show the writing on the screen, which is very effective in writing teaching and so on. While enjoying the good passages, students also find out good points and shortcoming of the passages, which is helpful in improving their writing.

Through this step, the writing skills, accurate words, and clauses can be consolidated. IX.Teaching Reflection This lesson aims to develop students’ learning interest in introducing a friend and enlarge their vocabulary about person’s character. In addition, this lesson concentrates on improve students’ writing skills from words to clauses, from topic sentences to supporting sentences, from character to examples to improve their writing abilities and develop writing skills through peer assessment and the teacher’s instructions. During the class, students’ interest in English and curiosity of learning knowledge are motivated by various teaching methods and group competition. They are trained to write independently and imitatively and have the ability to critically thinking. They can also learn to cooperate with their classmates and get involved in the teamwork, which contributes to developing a good attitude to English learning and mastering writing in English.
