We are super Task:
Create a picture with the shapes. Background study and material analyses:
The third grade students already had a certain English reading ability through more than three years of learning. Based on the knowledge of shapes they’ve learned during last two periods, the students have grasped some vocabulary of shapes (eg. circle, rectangle, triangle, square, star, etc). They are able to used the question ‘What shape is it?’ to ask the shape of an object. Based on the knowledge they’ve learned during the previous school years, the students are also able to use the sentence pattern ‘I have …’ to tell the object they own, and the pattern ‘I can …’ to express their ability. So the main purpose in this period is helping the students to integrate these language materials and using the language they’ve learned. Objectives:
1. Try to understand the word ‘whiskers’ according to the context of the passage. 2. Learn to use the sentence pattern: ... have/has …
… can make … with …
3. Try to know shapes are useful. We can make beautiful pictures with shapes.
Difficulty: Use the core language of this unit properly. Aids: Media, work sheet, different shapes, scissors, glue
