Frankenstein’s Moster 一，教学内容分析

本课为阅读课，主要内容来自于小说Frankenstein’s Monster节选。

二，学生情况分析

本节课的授课对象是高二下期的学生，通过一年多高中英语的学习，已经有了一定的词汇量，和阅读量。另外，也对阅读技巧和阅读策略也有一定的掌握。

三，教学目标

1，知识目标

在阅读中学习新词，短语，并推断其意思。学会总结文章段落大意，能理解Fankenstein’s Monster这本小说的主旨，体会英美文学作品的特点。

2，能力目标

学会快速阅读，理解文章主旨大意。细节阅读，体会文章结构，词汇，句式的运用。能在文章中找到关键信息，从而理解小说中的人物，以及小说作者想表达的思想。

四，教学重难点

重点：理解文章主旨大意，体会文章结构。

难点：文学作品中的长难句引起的阅读障碍，通过细节阅读练习引导学生理解作品中人物的特点。

五，教学方法和手段

1，阅读教学法，任务型教学法。

2，利用多媒体PowerPoint课件及黑板。

六，教学过程

Step1 Lead in

Invite students to enjoy a video clip, asking them to use some words to describe what they see. Step2 Introduction

After watching this video clip, students should know something about this movie. So read the brief introduction, and answer some questions. Q1, Who is the writer of this novel? Q2, What’s the story about? Q3, What’s the people’s reaction to this novel?

Step3 While-reading 1.part 1 The story of Frankenstein Task1. Read part1 quickly and answer some questions. Q1.How did Frankenstein create the creature ? Q2.What are the characteristics of the creature ? Q3.Why do you think the creature wants a wife ? Q4.What does he do after his request is refused ? Q5.What action does Frankenstein take ?

Task2. Based on the answers in task1, students already obtain the main idea of this fiction. Then try to fill in a chart to help them understand how does the story develop.

2.Part2 Extract from Frankenstein

Task1. Read the whole part, and try to find out the main idea of each paragraph. And based on the information of the main idea of each paragraph, students

try to conclude the main idea of the whole part. (Match game) Task2. Complete the chart according part 2.

Students should find out the details from three aspects, which will help them understand more about the plot and the character----Frankenstein.

Step3 Post-reading After reading, try to conclude the whole passage. Because of his ___________, the creature was seen as a _______ and people treated him ______, including his ______ Frankenstein. Step4 Group work

Discuss in groups “ How does Frankenstein's feeling change about his creature?”

Step5 Assignment

Review what they have learned this period, and write something about “how do they feel about the monster,and why?”
