Step 1:

Work in pairs

Read the title of the passage and the words about cloning and DNA in exercise one

to predict what the students themselves will know about the technology. Step 2: Scanning



Make sure the definition of cloning and DNA as well as the relation between them 

Finish exercise 4, finding the main idea of each paragraph Step 3 ：Intensive reading

Divide the passage into three parts and read them one by one, focusing on the advantages and disadvantages of cloning Step 4: Discussion

Summarize the pros and cons of cloning

Step 5: Writing task

A heated discussion about whether to clone or not was carried out recently. Students express the results of the discussion and represent their own opinions. Step 6: Peer-evaluation

Finish peer-evaluation in a group of four and make comments on others’ work in order to learn from each other as well as accumulate useful expressions
