Unit 8 At the fruit shop Period 1

ⅠAnalysis of teaching material The teaching material of this period is the part of “Look and learn ”.

It is aimed to help the students to master some important words in this unit.

Besides, the key patterns “How much is it/ are they? ...yuan.” will be learned in some situations.

ⅡAnalysis of teaching aims: 1.

Knowledge aims: The students will learn to read the numbers from one to ten, the words about fruits such as “apple/apples”, “banana/bananas”, “orange/oranges”, “pear/pears”, and the phrases about fruits such as “an apple”, “a banana”, “an orange” and “a pear”. 2.

Ability aims: The students will improve their ability to learn, read, and speak in English through serial activities.

Affection aims: The students will care more about healthy food.

Analysis of key points: 1.

ⅣAnalysis of teaching procedures: 1.

Greetings. The teacher and the students say “Good morning” to each other. Here, “How are you?” are reviewed naturally.

Listen and do: The students are allowed to appreciate the video “Apple tree” first. Then the teacher teaches the students to sing the song and do the motions. And finally the students stand up and perform it.

3. Presentation: (1)

Look and learn: The teacher uses the real fruits to teach the new words. For an example: T: Look at me. What’s in my hand? Ss:

Apple.

T: Great! Apple. A-P-P-L-E. Ss: Apple. A-P-P-L-E. T: An apple a day keeps the doctor away. It’s very healthy. An apple. Ss: An apple. T: Apple, apples. Ss: Apple, apples. ... (2)

Quick response. The teacher uses the flash cards to help the students do the quick response. (3)

Play a game: The students are asked to close their eyes and guess what fruit it is according to the taste, the smell and the touch. (4) Can you count? The students are induced to recognize the numbers from one to ten. And the students should understand the difference between the single forms and the plural forms of the nouns. (5) Know the money.

Production: How much is it/are they? ...yuan. The teacher induces the students to do the “point and say”. The students are asked to work in pairs and practice the key sentences.
