Pre-reading (cover) What’s the title of this book?
Ted in a red bed. What can you see on the cover? I can see a bear. What’s the name of the bear?
Ted. Where does Ted lie on?
A red bed. ( A yellow pillow.) What is the story about? Can you guess? What do you want to know about the story? What does Ted like? Try to guess! 5.
While-reading P2: Ted likes to shop. Does your mother like to shop? How long do your mom shop? Does your father like to shop? What does Ted want to buy?
P3: T read, “Ted stops. Ted hops. Ted smiles a big smile.”
( act “hop”) Who can act “hop”? Why does Ted stop? Because he see a nice bed. Where is the bed? It’s in the store of Fred’s Beds. Why does Ted smile? Because Ted likes the bed. What will you do when you see sth you like? P4: Who can read for us?
Ted likes red wood.
What’s your favorite color for a bed? P5: Can you see the bed?
What’s on the bed? ( A pillow and sheet) Ted said,” I wants to see more.” So he goes into the store.
Who is in the store? Can you guess? P6: Who is Fred? He is the boss of the store. What does Fred say? What does Ted say?
Then what does Ted do?
P7: He flops on the pillow. (act “flop”)
Who can act? P8: T read, “
I need this bed, Fred!”
grins Ted.
“It is a nice price,”
smiles Fred. P9: now it’s Ted’s bed, not Fred’s bed.
Ted feels sleepy. Ted falls asleep. (who can act? ) P10: Ted has a dream. He bobs down a stream. (who can act? )
Can you see the stream? What color is the stream? Look at the pig and the cat, what are they going to do? ( They are going to move the bed. ) Where are they going to move?
P11: Ted has a dream. He bobs on a wave into a cave.
Do you see the cave? What animals live in the cave? P12-13:Ted has a dream. He can fly in the sky!
Ted has a dream. He is back by the stream.
What’s in the stream? P14: Ted wakes up with snore.
Is he in the store now?( No!)
He ‘s not in the store any more.
P15: Ted is home. His bed is home too.
How does he feel now?
P16: “ this red bed must be a magic red bed!”
Is the bed real magic?
Who are outside the window? How do they feel? Why?
( Helping others is also a kind of happiness.) What can you feel when you read the story? ( warm, love, friendship) 6.
Post-reading. Are you happy when you help your friends? Really? You are so nice/ very kind.

Review the new words.
All of you say the words, and someone do the actions. 8.
Listen to the story and do the actions when you heard these words.

Read the story again by themselves. (hand out paper 1 ) 10.

He likes to smile when he is happy. Do you like smile? When he sleeps, he slips his feet under the sheet. (ppt pic) Who can act? He flops on the pillow. Who can act? One day, he fall asleep and has a dream. He bobs down a stream. (show and act) In his dream, he can fly in the sky. ( who can act?)
Then Ted wakes up with a snore. ( who can act?) He has some friends. His friends are very nice and friendly. Do you have friends? How is your friend? 3) Read the verb phrases together. 4) I say you do. (slowly and quickly) 5) Little teacher says, others do. 6) Others say and one student does. 7) listen to the story.(no book) 8) listen again (with picture book). 8) listen again and do the actions. 9) Hand out the paper 1. Students read the story together. (projector)
