Topic: PEP English Grade Five Unit 4 When is Easter? Period: period 5（Read and write）

II. Teaching Aims: 1. Knowledge Aims: (1) To enable the students understand the meaning of the diary and know how to use the ordinal number correctly and then can complete the task. (2) Make sure the students can read the diary in correct pronunciation and tune.

2. Ability Aims:

To enable the students can complete the personalized writing activities. 3. Emotion Aims: Require students can use ordinal numbers correctly and record the growth process of things, and through the specific content of reading to make the students to understand cherish their lives, learn to be grateful.

III. Teaching Important and Different points: 1. To enable the students understand the meaning of the diary and know how to use the ordinal number correctly.

2. Help the students to decompose the knowledge of individual and finally help the students to form a whole text in the mind.

IV. Teaching Aids: Pictures, cards, multimedia.

V. Teaching Steps:

Pre-task preparation 1. Warm up (1) Greetings. (2) Welcome back to our club.

(3) Sing the club song. 【设计意图】在老师的介绍下，让学生快速进入学习状态，活跃了课堂气氛。唱起俱乐部之歌，重温俱乐部的规则，让学生心理结构起一种竞争意识，通过自己的努力成为俱乐部的贵宾客户（VIP），充分调动学生的学习的积极性。

2. Introduce our club to the students.

(1) The teacher introduces the slogan of the club. (2) Introduce the topic of the club. (3) Choose the lucky star. 【设计意图】教师介绍俱乐部的口号和俱乐部共同分享的主题,然后用转盘来评选出今天的幸运之星，幸运之星的日记将在今天的俱乐部活动中分享。通过这样的形式，让学生初步感知到本课要学习的内容。以抽奖的形式来确定要学习的日记，形式新颖能最快速度集中学生的注意力。

3. Look and know

The teacher asks the students to look at the four pictures and guess: What’s Sarah’s diary about? 【设计意图】通过看图让学生感知本课的学习内容，让学生在学习日记之前在心理默默的建构一个初步的语言学习文本，为后面的学习做好铺垫。

4. Listen and say .T: How many dates can you hear in the Sarah’s diary? What are they? 听录音感知日记里出现的四个日期。

【设计意图】通过带有问题的听，来让同学们捕捉录音里的关键信息，从而在脑海里初步建构文本模型。这样的方法有效的降低了阅读教学的难度，提升学生的自信心，使后面的学习得心应手。

5. Read it one by one. 教师出示第一篇日记和图片，提问：When are the kitten’s birthdays? What colour are they? Can they see? 引导学生观察图片，从文本中获取信息做标记并回答。然后教师播放日记录音，学生模仿跟读，并且根据图片进行复述。教师出示第二篇日记

和图片，提问：T: Today is April 21st. How old are the kittens? Are they pink? Can they see? 教师播放日记录音，学生听后回答问题。教师再次播放第二段录音，学生模仿跟读，根据图片进行复述第二段。

教师用这样的方法一次出示第三、四幅图片和日期，让学生感知

Two new kitten’s 的变化，同时注意语音知识的渗透。

【设计意图】教师利用出示日记和图片—提问—获取信息做标记回答问题—模仿跟读—复述的方式来呈现四段日记，帮助学生从每幅图片小整体的感知过渡到日记语境的大整体的学习中，使学生阅读能力由低到高的提升，真正使学生能做到借助图片读懂简单的故事或小短文，并养成按意群阅读的习惯。

6. Read the diary.

(1) Read and circle. Require students to circle the key words of the diary. Do it in a group. (2) Fill in the blanks. Do it in a group. 【设计意图】首先要求学生有感情的朗读四段文本，然后圈出每一段的关键词再利用填空的方式复习文本内容，最后看着黑板上的关键词复述整篇日记。在这个过程中帮助学生在具体的语境中理解生词kitten,diary,still,noise,fur,open,walk的意思。教会学生捕捉文本的关键词来进行有条理的复述，采用多种阅读的方法读熟文本，为完成读后写的任务做好准备。）

7. Guess and share. (1) What happened next about the kittens? (2) Share my diary about pandas. 【设计意图】学完整篇日记后，让学生充分发挥想象，在脑海里续写日记，真正做到学习完教学内容后的学生思维的拓展延伸。在学生的脑海里已经建构了一个完整的文本后，再来观看老师记录熊猫成长过程的视频，能使学生的思维空间得到有效的提高。

8. Try to write a diary about pandas. (1) Choose task 1 or 2 to finish. (2) Share your diary.

9. Learn to be grateful. Watch the video and know we should cherish your life, learn to

be grateful. 【设计意图】让学生通过学习记录动物成长过程的日记，感知到人们随着时间的迁移慢慢的长大，慢慢的老去，从而发自内心的让学生懂得珍惜有限的生命，学会感恩，实现了从认知到情感的升华。

Assignment

Level 1: Read the diary three times. Level 2: Try to write a diary of dog. 【设计意图】课后作业，进一步巩固本课所学知识点，让学生把具体的知识运用到生活中来记录事物的成长过程，真正达到学以致用的目的。
