Background Of all the human feelings, anger is the most dangerous. For students who just 背景分析

came of age (18), the way they deal with anger may exert an immeasurable influence on their future life. As Unit 3 Book 11 aims to help students solve psychological problems, the lesson is designed to help students gain insights into the nature of anger and efficient ways to deal with it.

The Main Task: The students will be taught about the nature and types of anger. Also, they will learn efficient ways to deal with anger.

Learning Strategies: 教学目标

1. Cognitive Strategy: in this lesson, with the help of pictures and questions, the students will be able to find out the topic and the supporting details. 2. Communication Strategy: in this lesson, the students will be guided to cooperate with each other to express their opinions of anger. Affection: In this lesson, the students will be inspired to hold a correct attitude towards anger.

Step 1 Warming Up (5 min) 1.

Greet students with “Ladies and

gentlemen” .

Show students two videos about anger ( “good anger” and “bad anger”).

Show students some pictures of a popular game Angry Birds（supported by the computer and projector）

The students will be curious to see the pictures and think hard to guess the topic.

Students could realize that being an adult means being good at controlling one’s anger.

Step 2 Questions and Answers (15min) In this part, three questions about anger are asked: (1)

What is your definition of anger and the definition from the materials?

How many types of anger are there and could you give me an example of each? (category) (3)

How could we deal with anger? (ways) Students are encouraged to act them out.

To answer the first question, To answer each question, students will have 1-2 minutes to search the reading materials for answers. (The reading materials were read by students before the lesson).

students are made to make a comparison between their definition of anger and the definition from the materials. Through Question 2, students could better identify their anger in daily life. Through Question3, students could better deal with anger.

Step 3 Brainstorming

(15min) Students are divided into three groups. The three groups are shown different situations where they are easy to get angry and asked how to deal with their anger.

Students have five minutes to discuss with their group mates. After the discussion, each group shall choose one representative.

Students could better realize the harm of anger and thus raise their“anger-awareness” .

Step 4 Conclusions (3 min) Students are asked to have a review on to better control it.

Students will be encouraged to reach own.

Students will be better able to learn about anger,especially gaining a deeper understanding of how to deal with it.
