Step 1 Warm-up 1. Greetings T: Hello! Boys and girls. How are you? Ss: Hello! I am good, thank you! 2. Review colour words: T: What colour is it? Ss: It’s ….
3. Sing the song: I See Yellow. Step 2 Presentation 1. T shows colourful crayons and asks “What’s this?” T teaches the new word “crayon”. Then show crayons of
different colours to teach new colours: orange, pink, purple, brown and black.
2. T posts cards of new colour words on the blackboard and uses colourful crayons to practise with students. 3. Let students pass a crayon in lines saying sentence “Here you are.” T asks the last student to pass the crayon to him and teaches new sentence “Pass me a crayon, please.”
Step 3 Practise 1. Play a game: each group stands for one colour, T says one colour and students in this group should stand up, clap hands and repeat the word three times.
2. Conversation practice between T and students, students and students: S1: Pass me a crayon, please. T: What colour? S1: Purple. T: Here you are. S1: Thank you. T: Not at all. Step 4 Production 1. Listen and number. 2. Make up new conversations with school things to practice. Step 5 Summary What have we learned?
1. Read new colour words.
