一、教学内容分析：

The Interesting World of Plants是牛津英语高一第二学期第三单元的阅读课，文章介绍了四种有趣的植物：water lily(莲花), lotus（荷花）, banyan tree（榕树）和gingko tree（银杏树），

对应文章四个段落。

文章段落清晰，图文并茂。

本节课为第一课时，主要是对课文的理解。

二、教学方法和手段

1、

通过有关图片的呈现，让学生讨论植物的重要性。丰富多彩的植物图片，则能引发学生对大自然神奇力量的惊叹，并由此导入课文——神奇的植物世界。

分别处理文章四个段落：

（1）第一，二段：关于两种同科植物water lily 和lotus，文章理解起来比较容易。学生齐声朗读，然后老师提问问题，并着重学习每种植物最显著的特征，。

——这样做，有助于训练学生朗读能力，同时也便于老师纠正学生的错误发音。同时教师精心设计一些问题来引导学生注意描写的技巧，即重点把握事物显著特征。

（2）第三段：关于一树成林之banyan tree。学生先自己独立阅读，然后回答老师问题，引导学生理解此树的特点。最后与同桌一起用简笔画将此树的繁衍壮大过程表示出来，之后让两位学生在黑板上表示出来。

——此段生词较多，难度较大，有碍理解；若能将其形象化，则有助于理解和记忆。

（3）第四段：关于长寿命植物gingko tree 和bristlecone pine tree。给出段落中出现的数字和地点，学生猜测段落内容。然后听录音，比较自己的猜测和所听到的内容；最后阅读段落，回答细节问题。

——此段内容较简单，如能把握其中几个关于树龄的数字，学生可较容易地理解内容。

4. 最后巩固环节，设计为表格填空以加深对文章内容的理解，并补充一篇阅读填词以加深对文章重点单词的认识。

5. 学生对话——假设自己是这四种神奇植物中的一种，与其他植物见面时吹嘘自己。

——把无声的植物世界拟人化，可加深印象，并希望加强学生对神奇植物的喜爱和对大自然的热爱。
