Are they yours? Teaching model：

Reading and writing Teaching method：

Bottom-up approach Teaching goals: To understand the reading material about the Lost and Found Office in New York To learn to write lost and found notes Teaching

Objectives：

Key vocabulary: phone, leave, plane, why, hundreds of, look for, thousand, strange, boat, duck, pig

Key structures: They are looking for…

Whose are they? Teaching aids：

Tape recorder, videos, handouts

Teaching procedures: Step1: Warming-up

Show some pictures to review the words of school things. Then the teacher asks the students to read aloud the words in the box and complete the sentences with the correct words and expressions from the box.

Step2: Reading First, ask the students to listen to the tape carefully and get the main idea of the passage .Then read aloud the passage and answer the questions in Activity2. Next complete the passage with the correct form of the words and expression from the box in Activity3.At last read the passage again.

Step3: Writing

Read the lost and found notes and write notes for two more things in Activity4.

Step4: Do exercises

Step5: Homework.
