教材分析：

本课改编自柯南道尔小说《红发会》第一章节。1890年秋季，华生医生去拜访福尔摩斯，从而得知红发商人Jabez Wilson遇到的奇怪事件。Jabez雇佣Vincent Spaulding作为店里的伙计，Vincent很勤劳，而且只要一半的薪水。只有一个小毛病，喜欢窝在当铺的地下室里冲洗照片。有一天，Vincent告诉Jabez红发会的消息。红发会是依照美国一名红发百万富翁的遗嘱设立，用遗产的利息让红头发的男子有个舒适的差事。所以只要入选，就可以只干很少工作，拿到很多的津贴。Jabez参加了面试并中选。他要完成的任务是每天上午十一点到下午两点在一个指定房间里抄写《大英百科全书》，期间绝对不得离开。Jabez认为这个任务很奇怪，但还是接受了。随后的两个月Jabez认真抄写，但是，当他某天去上班时，却发现门上钉着一张卡片，写着“红发会已经解散”，他觉得非常震惊，这让他来求助福尔摩斯，希望能解开这个谜题。整个故事“peculiar”（奇怪）一词贯穿全文，而故事的三个奇怪之处为故事的后续发展埋下了坚实的伏笔。一、伙计Spaulding可以忍受半薪工作，但是需要经常进入地下室冲洗照片；二、Jabez的店铺临近英国银行，而英国银行里存有很多黄金。三、红发会的成立、工作任务和突然解散都为下文Spaulding等人挖通道

去偷窃银行的金子做了准备。这篇小说故事层层铺垫，让读者能随着侦探步步推理，接近真相却百思不得其解，得知真相后不禁感叹福尔摩斯的才华和能力。读这篇文章，不仅可以帮助学生更好地地理解故事的五要素：设定、任务、情节、故事矛盾和结局的重要性，也能帮助学生了解侦探小说中精彩伏笔所起到的作用。虽然是反映社会黑暗的侦探小说，全文传递了“天网恢恢疏而不漏”和“天下没有免费的午餐”的价值观。

学情分析:

本班学生英语基础较好，学习态度较认真，学习们对于侦探小说热情较高。学生通过两年的英语学习，已基本具备在阅读中获取细节信息和进行推断的能力，部分学生能用英语自信地表达观点。但是多数学生在理解和整合知识、逻辑推理和分析论证方面的能力比较弱。此外，虽然学生对福尔摩斯有一定程度的了解，但对其具体的故事比较陌生，阅读面较窄。

教学目标: 在本课学习结束时，学生们能够：

分析小说的结构，如：设定、角色、情节等。

2.

整合文章的事件和线索，对事件提出合理的推测和解释。

3.

完成一篇侦探小说的开始章节。

教学重点：

学生通过阅读，找到文章的要素，如：人物、情节和场景设定等，获取文章中“peculiar”的地方，并整合推断出故事的合理解释，发现
