Analysis of teaching material Period:1
In the circus is taken from Unit 2, Oxford English 2B. The design of teaching contents is interesting and close to children’s life. The textbook is divided into eight units. This unit mainly talks about animals. In this unit, the students need to learn to use nouns to identify zoo animals, and use adjectives to describe animals. By learning this unit, the students can know more about animals and can describe animals they have learned using adjectives. Besides, they are expected to love and protect animals. This lesson is the first period in this unit. It is very important for us to learn this lesson because it is the basic lesson in this unit.
Analysis of the Students
First, the students of Grade Two have learned some kinds of animals such as dogs, cats,frogs and so on. Secondly, almost all of them love animals and like pictures or videos about animals. Thirdly, they are lively and active and have strong curiosity and imitation. However, because they are short of vocabulary, some of them are shy to open their mouths in class.
Teaching aims 1.Knowledge aims: a.Using nouns to identify zoo animals. b.Using adjectives to describe animals. 2.Ability aims: a. Using the new sentence patterns to describe their favourite animals.

Teaching Methods
1.Competition teaching method: The competition through the whole lesson can raise the students’enthusiasm,
and improve the students’spirit of teamwork.
2.Game teaching method: Various games in every step can make the students to learn in happiness and to have fun in learning.
Different kinds of games can stimulate the students’
interest in learning . 3.TPR teaching method: This method enables students to learn English in the actual experience ,and can increase students' interest in learning 4, Direct-viewing demonstration teaching method:
Using real objects, ppt, facial expressions or gestures to present teaching contents vividly. It makes the lesson full of fun.
