Step 1 Revision Do you know anything about them? Johann Strauss the elder, wrote and played music for traditional dances, called the waltz. Mozart was born in Austria in 1765. Before he was six, he played not only the piano but also the violin.

I. Exclamatory sentence 感叹句

用来表达喜悦、赞叹、惊异、愤怒、厌恶等较为强烈感情的句子叫作感叹句。感叹句一般用what或how引导，句末用感叹号。what修饰名词，how修饰形容词或副词。感叹句的常用结构如下：

一、what引导的感叹句有三种形式：

◆What + a / an +形容词+可数名词单数

（+主语+谓语）! 如：

What a lovely boy (Tom is)!

◆What+形容词+可数名词复数（+主语+谓语）! 如：

What beautiful pictures (they are)! ◆What +形容词+不可数名词（+主语+谓语）! 如：

What delicious meat (it is)! 二、how引导的感叹句通常只有一种形式：

How+形容词

/ 副词（+主语+谓语）! 如：

How happy the children were!

How carefully he is reading!

提示: 一般情况下，以what和how开头的感叹句可以相互转换，转换后意义不变。如： What a tall building it is! = How tall the building is!

Look at the sentences. —Is this by Strauss or Mozart? —It’s by Strauss.

—Do you like traditional Western music or pop music? —Well, I like both. 选择疑问句提供两种（或两种以上）情况，问对方选择哪一种。

在结构上可用一般疑问句也可用特殊疑问句，两种（或两种以上）情况由or连接起来。选择疑问句在作答时不能用Yes或No，而要作出具体的回答选择。

选择疑问句中的

or 可以连接不同的内容：两个名词、动词、介词短语等等, 但通常是并列结构，即前后一致的结构。
