教学目标：

1、基础知识目标：

1) 词汇：

something、other、kind、head、meal、improve、skill、use、twice、week 2) 短语：

between…and…、spend…doing sth…、more than、have fun be called…、the head of、twice a week、three hours a day 3) 学习如何在生活中使用一般现在时。

2、语言目标：

Millie spends three hours a day doing her homework. Millie goes to the Reading Club twice a week. 3、技能目标：

1) 能透彻理解并会运用本课时的语言点。

2) 会综合运用本课时所学内容，描述自己或他人的学校生活。

4、情感目标：

通过本课时学习，学会合理安排时间，激发学习兴趣，从而意识到如何用学到的语言为自己服务。

Teaching procedures Step 1. Making a revision

Say: Last period, we learned Millie’s school life. Can you say something about her school life? (Ask some students to retell the text, after that, ask students to finish Pant D. )

Then ask students to say a complete sentence in time order. Step 2 Practicing paragraph

1. Read the first and revise the following expressions.

1) Say: Millie is a student at Beijing Sunshine Secondary School. What about you? (I’m a student at …) Tell students that we can also say I’m a student of / in Beijing Sunshine Secondary School.

2) Ask: What class is Millie in? (She is in class 1, Grade 7. ) What class are you in? Are you in class 1 Grade 7?

3) Ask: Does Millie like her classroom? (Yes, she does.) Why does she like her classroom? (Because it’s big and clean.) Do you like English? Why do you like English? Do you like playing football? Why? Why not? Do you go to school by bus? Why? Why not?

2. Read the second paragraph and revise the following expressions.

1) Ask: Are there lots of nice people in Millie’s class? (Yes, there are.) Explain “lots of”

to students: ‘lots of’ means ‘many’ and ‘much’. That’s to say, we can put countable and uncountable nouns after ‘lots of’, and we can also say ‘a lot of’ instead of ‘lots of’. Translation:

3) Ask: When do Millie and Amy sit under the trees in the playground? (At lunchtime) What do you do at lunchtime? Do you chat with your classmates at lunchtime? What does your father do at lunchtime?

4) Ask: Do they always chat with each other? (Yes, they do) Do you and your best friend chat with each other? What should you and you best friend do to each other? (Help students to answer: We should help each other and learn from each other.)

5) Ask: Are Millie’s classmates nice to her? (Yes, they are.) Are your parents nice to you? Who is nice to you in your class? Are you nice to everyone?

3. Read the third paragraph and revise the following expressions.

1) When does the school day start? (At 8:00 a.m..) What about our school?

2) What do they do first every morning? (Do morning exercises.) Do we do morning exercises? Do you like doing morning exercises? Why do we do morning exercises? Do you do morning exercises? Do you like doing morning exercises? What other exercises do we do? (Eye exercises.)

3) What do they do after they do morning exercises? (Have lessons.) When do their lessons begin? When do our lessons begin?

4) What’re Millie’s favourite lessons? (Chinese and English.) What’s your favourite lesson? What’s another way of saying “My favourite lesson is English.”? (I like English best.)

5) How long does Millie spend doing her homework? (About two hours.) How long do you spend doing your homework? How long do you spend having your breakfast? How long do you spend reading English every day? (Ask students to remember the structure: sb. spends time doing sth.)

4. Read the last paragraph and revise the following expressions:

1) How often does Millie go to the school library? (Every day.) How often does she go to the Reading Club? (Every Tuesday and Friday. / Twice a week. ) How often do you go to school? How often do you watch TV? How often do you play computer games?

2) What’s another way of saying “Amy is a member of the Swimming Club.” ? (Amy is in the Swimming club.)

3) What’s another way of saying “She is a very good swimmer.”? (She is good at swimming.)

4) Do they have a good time at their school? (Yes, they do.) What does “have a good time”

mean? It means have fun.

5. Read the important phrases together and write them down on your note books.
